The Democrats Continue to Repel Their Hispanic Minority Base – Opinion

The Democrats are continuing to enforce the hyper-leftist standards because adhering to it isn’t paying off.

Realizing that I have little to no options but to resort to treachery to try to deal with race and the newly created social structures, I am determined to bravely work through the maze of equity and race. It was years ago when the new term “LatinX” appeared on our cultural radars. Out of the escalating debate about gender assignments, various sub-groups that wanted to change our language ran into a linguistic problem.

Soon it became obvious that Spanish was a romance language with a built in offense. Verbiage nouns have either a male- or female label, which can cause problems for anyone who wants to remove gender from the speech. Whether it was the forcing of “correct” pronouns such as ze/zir/zirs, or creating new words entirely like “cisnet” and “maverique,” there was this issue with the Spanish language being defiantly gendered.

That was the time that Latino and Latina became synonymous. The ensuing years brought with them many difficulties. To begin with, the new LatinX version should be applied to all languages. There are many obstacles. If a LatinX individual were to check out a book, they would go to the “bibliotecx” to check out a “librx”. 

One other issue has been shown – the Spanish culture has no interest in it. Joe Cunningham described this factIt is because of this that many Democrats have been insisting on LatinX as a reference to Hispanic voters. Joe pointed out that the potential payoff for this outreach has diminishing returns. It is not possible to reach the few people who prefer LatinX. Consequently, the majority of them are not only hostile to it but also resistant.

I also use her to provide a listening ear on matters concerning Hispanic culture. It is clear that she has not met any Spanish speakers, and her interactions with them have only been befuddlement and even hostility. It is not clear how Latin communities are being served.

The Democratic Party’s missteps with Hispanic voters over the last few years are just a couple of examples. Florida has seen a lot of shifting in the voting behavior of this section of the electorate. It is something that I am seeing nationwide, as Republicans continue to make steady gains among Latino voters. Democrats seem to have lost the ability or willingness to appeal to the Hispanic voter in recent elections. 

Florida witnessed a reddening state during the 2020 election. Donald Trump surprised many, almost equaling Joe Biden in Hispanic voter turnout. in Miami-Dade County.It was not surprising, though it was shocking for Democrats. Joe Biden’s campaign was completely negligent with the Democrat Party in this state, specifically in South Florida where the campaign failed to deliver Spanish-speaking support and party leaders in the region declared the campaign was suppressing the Latino vote.

Although the obvious biden camp sabotage was evident, it wasn’t surprising that polling found surprisingly high support for Donald Trump just weeks prior to the election. The campaign specialists decided in a desperate attempt to delude themselves that Q-anon was responsible for the disinformation spreading through Spanish radio stations. Another sign that the Democrats are almost hostile to Hispanics is this. They count on them, yet they don’t court them.

Jeff Charles may be correct when he says the GOP needs to act, however I believe they’ve been doing so since a while. However, Republicans do not tend to shout as much about the actions they have taken for particular ethnicities. Another factor — the press is far less inclined to highlight when the GOP makes a positive impression with a particular voting group.

This was something I noticed years ago when Florida received an influx from Puerto Ricans following Hurricane Maria’s devastation. Others suggested the arrivals could tilt the state’s favor, like Rick Wilson (current fixture at The Lincoln Project). “Imagine a population of 100,000 Puerto Ricans voting Democratic in Orlando.,” WilsonThe Washington Post.  “Nobody can afford a big change in the registration pattern or a change in the voting pattern that offsets Florida’s narrowness. It is possible to have an advantage for Democrats in 2018, if Democrats do it correctly.”

That was when I responded by notingThis wave is not new. Many residents had been fleeing the island’s economic morass for years already, and the dividends had been minimal for the Democrats because those transplants were registering as Independents, and many fostered a leery approach to the party that ran their economy so poorly they were inspired to leave. After the Hurricane, Hillary Clinton failed to take over the state. Many residents fled to Orlando to be with Senator Bill Nelson.

Nelson was defeated in his bid for reelection, and Florida now has two GOP senators.

For years, this has been the case with Democrats and Hispanics. The party may feel that the Hispanic vote belongs to them, but the effort they make is more about entitlement than earning it. What is curious is the fact that the party does not pander but follows a script. It is impossible to measure the impact of Hispanic voters insisting that they want LantinX applied to their votes.

Politico’s Marc Caputo referenced a poll last year showing how little the Florida contingent of Spanish heritage voters thought of the term. This would seem to be the type of data that a party seeking help should pay attention.

It follows national trends. Equis Research, a polling company, asked the voting bloc from several Hispanic-rich countries which term they preferred for describing themselves. In every instance, Hispanic/Latino/Latina was preferred by a minimum of 70%, with no state registering higher than 3% supporting LatinX.

Also, In its recent poll, Politico noted this.However, this is not just a matter of avoiding the use of LatinX. Hispanics and Latinos are outraged at LatinX being used in a way that can negatively impact their view of a politician. 

For Democrats, this is more problematic: 40% said Latinx both bothers and offends their lives to some extent. 30% said that they wouldn’t support any politician or group using the term.

The Democratic Party’s methodology is starting to wear this out. Dems count on minorities voters almost exclusively to their success. It’s probably been too long. It is common for this group to fail to do the required work in order to gain their support. This is because they try to force a term onto a culture. They also show basic indifference by not listening to people or looking at polls that show the negative effects of their move. 

This type of thinking will only make 2022 more difficult for the Democratic Party.
