Will CNN Report? Dems Spending Big $$$ Promoting Trumpers in Primaries

We’ve seen the liberal networks and the top liberal newsmakers lament at great length about the deadly grip that Donald Trump has on the GOP. So let’s put this story on the desk for CNN and the rest: Why are the Democrats funding Trump die-hards in GOP primaries?

Sophia Cai, Axios reporter under “Democrats play With Fire in GOP Primaries”

Democratic groups are buying ads touting some of the most extreme pro-Trump candidates in Republican primaries around the country — meddling in GOP contests to set up more favorable matchups in November.

What is the point? It assumes voters in general will not vote for candidates that support conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. However, it can backfire dramatically by elevating fringe Republicans to national office.

The news is driving: The Nancy Pelosi-affiliated House Majority PAC paid for a TV ad of 30-seconds to promote Chris Mathys, self-declared Trump Conservative. It was against moderate Republican Rep. David Valadao (California’s 22nd District ….).

In Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the Democratic Governors Association and Richard Irvin are investing millions in Illinois to undermine Richard Irvin’s prospects in the GOP primaries and spotlight the conservative credentials of state senator Darren Bailey.

Cai said that Democrats have been doing this for years.  In a Politico piece titled, “How I Helped Todd Akin Win — So I Could Beat Him Later,” then-Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) described her 2012 strategy of engineering her ultimate general election opponent. It didn’t hurt when the networks devoted 96 minutes in just three and a half summer days to Akin’s claim that pregnancies can’t happen in a “legitimate rape.”

Cai concluded with the obvious point that “Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign shows how the strategy can backfire in devastating fashion: The team sought to elevate Donald Trump in the GOP primaries, believing he would be an easier general election matchup.”

Washington Free Beacon was also on the story, promoting Trumpers to be front-runners with numbers.

Josh Shapiro is the Democratic nominee for governor in Pennsylvania. Doug Mastriano spent more money than Mastriano on his entire TV budget for a single commercial that promoted him as a Republican candidate.

Colorado Democrats have been boosting the Republican Senate and Governor-Electoral primaries nutjobs. Super PAC for DemocratsIn a week, I spent $800,000.Ron Hanks was a state senator candidate and elected representative. Hanks is another Trump-loving fan, who came to the Ellipse for Trump’s final stand.

Democrats also have a Centennial State counterpart. Reserved $1.5 Million in AirtimeGreg Lopez was a conspiracy theorist who ran for the Republican governorship primary. He used his support to help a local mayor. Lopez doesn’t think we’ll ever know who won that election: “I mean, people are still questioning and debating what happened with the Kennedy assassination, what happened with other major situations, right?”

Liberal journalists became very upset when Rush Limbaugh’s 2008 “Operation Chaos” campaign urged Republicans to vote openly for Hillary Clinton. Reporting on the matter is a good idea.
