What a Very Convenient Change Just in Time for Biden’s SOTU – Opinion

After all that Democrats have flagellated Americans over regarding COVID, with Joe Biden demonizing the unvaccinated, pushing mandates that would throw people out of their jobs, and harming our economy, they’re now going to try to declare a “win” over COVID.

As we previously reported, after all the harm that they’ve done, they’re going to try to declare a “win” not because of the science but because they’ve realized they have an election coming in November and if they keep talking about COVID that’s going to continue to hurt them.

Here’s what Biden’s chief pollster advised everyone on Feb. 24 and it was liberal Punchbowl News that posted the memo.

We’ve had the “tools in the toolkit” that they talk about in the memo to deal with COVID for months. Why is it happening now?

They see that they’re getting killed by polls, according to the memo.

“The more we talk about the threat of COVID and onerously restrict people’s lives because of it, the more we turn them against us and show them we are out of touch with their daily realities [….]

It is time to stop talking about future uncertainties and restrictions.Focusing on how dire things are right now and what could be worse is a recipe for failure. Democrats will not succeed in navigating this. If 99% of Americans are able to get vaccinated, it is more harmful than what we do for voters. We will be entering our third year discussing restrictions. And, if Democrats continue to hold a posture that prioritizes COVID precautions over learning how to live in a world where COVID exists, but does not dominate, they risk paying dearly for it in November.”

It is there. It’s not about the science that has been in place for months with treatments, it’s about the polls. They’re going to tell you “now” we can declare victory.

Now, what are we going to hear from the Democrats in this wake? Democrats suddenly declared that no masks would be necessary for the State of the Union.

Why? How did they get the masks between February 17th when they asked for them and February 27th when they announced this? Here’s what they had previously been demanding for the SOTU.

[R]For the State of Union, there were requirements regarding masking, social ditancing and avoiding contact with other people. Those initial guidelines included a threat that “failure to follow guidelines or removal of the mask in the House Chamber will result in the attendee’s removal from the event and/or fines.”

The polling advisory was sent to them in the meantime. If they want to be able to declare “victory” at the SOTU, then masks would kind of make that look bad and not like victory, particularly if the masks had “MADE IN CHINA” on them (yes, the masks they handed out to members were made in China). Nancy Pelosi, D-CA House Speaker is a complete idiot.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) who has been fighting the mask mandate in the House called out the “political theater.” The national security advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz, Omri Ceren sarcastically observed, “Lucky break for Dems the science evolved just now.” Fox’s Tammy Bruce joked, “Biden’s SOTU continues to cure COVID!”
