Wellness Check on Raphael Warnock as More Gut Punches Hit Campaign – Opinion

It’s no secret that Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) has been hit with a wave of bad news over the last couple of months that has rocked his campaign.

President Biden’s low approval ratings are dragging him down big time in a potential match up with likely Republican nominee Herschel Walker, who Warnock has trailed in all but one poll taken to date, including one from a Democrat polling firm.

In addition to that, Warnock is in the middle of a child custody dispute with his ex-wife Oulèye Ndoye, who is “accusing Warnock of neglect of his children and failure to pay for childcare, leaving her ‘financially strapped,’” according to a Free Beacon report. These things are never pleasant to go through, especially if you’re one of the parties involved in the dispute and you also happen to be a candidate for public office.

The woes of Warnock are getting worse, unfortunately. Per a new Morning Consult poll taken of voters across the country, Biden is continuing to be a major obstacle for Democrat election/reelection chances in crucial House and Senate races, and is “underwater by double digits” in over 30 states including Georgia:

The pain is particularly acute for Warnock because where Biden’s support has dropped the most is among the crucial independent voting bloc in battleground states like Michigan … and Georgia:

The bleeding has been worst in Michigan, a state Biden won by less than 3 points in 2020, where his net approval rating has dropped by 38 points among independents — larger than the 33-point declines that have pulled him underwater with independents in Georgia and Minnesota.

Younger Democrat voters are also abandoning Biden, a pattern we’ve seen emerge in other recent polls as well:

In the Granite State, Biden’s approval rating among younger Democrats has dropped from 91% to 62%, compared with a 4-point decline among those 45 and up. Similar results were observed in Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Michigan as well as Georgia, Wisconsin. North Carolina, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina, Nevada, and Georgia.

A new poll from Georgia shows that Herschel will be the GOP nominee unless something extraordinary happens for any of the other candidates. Walker leads most possible general election matchup polls against Warnock.

Suffice it to see we’re not going to see much if any visits to Georgia from Joe Biden like we did in December 2019 and January 2020. He’s just become way too toxic to be seen with for vulnerable candidates like Warnock, some of who are now laughably trying to portray themselves as moderates on things like taxes and border security.

Don’t be deceived. Georgians have had to deal with this guy since the beginning. RightShow him the way in November. I mean the guy admitted himself in a campaign ad released this month that he hasn’t done anything in the Senate to write home about. As far as I’m concerned, that’s just about as close as you’ll come to getting a candidate for public office to admit they’re been a failure at what they were elected to do.
