We Live in the Greatest Nation in the World and Should Not Take It for Granted – Opinion

Today, we are celebrating the 246th year of America’s Independence. On this Fourth of July, as we celebrate America’s independence, we should remember that the American Dream is alive and well, freedom rings, and the United States of America is the greatest nation in the world.

Recent Fox News polls showed that 39% of Americans were proud to be Americans today. This is down from 69% in June 2011, when it was 69%. Amazingly, 56 percent of Americans say that they don’t feel proud about the country. Despite the grim outlook on the country, 56 percent of Americans believe that we are the most powerful nation in the world. Even critics of the country stay in America.

The freedoms that United States Marine Corps and World War II veteran Carl Dekel and his generation fought for are the reason why people are able to criticize America, while simultaneously enjoying the country’s benefits.

We are one of the most friendly countries. Those who bash America, more times than not, haven’t visited, let alone lived, anywhere else in the world. If they visit Cuba, Lebanon, North Korea, Venezuela, etc., where those countries lack basic necessities or are run by a dictatorship, I’m sure they will appreciate the greatness of the United States of America.

These veterans were there to defend the rights of the country. They fought for the best country possible and won. Sean Duffy was a former Congressman.

“When it comes down to it, we need to be proud of who we are. Don’t let anyone tell you or your kids that we should be ashamed of this country, because there’s so much to be proud of. Since 1776, America has only grown stronger. We’re the most innovative and creative country in the world.”

Many millions of people are proud Americans. Like our veterans and heroes, they will stand up for America. America will forever be known as the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. The American Dream must be preserved.

While times may seem difficult, the heroes never gave up when it was. They fought–fought for our freedom, fought for the American Dream, and fought for We The People, and won. As Ronald Reagan said, we must never take for granted our freedoms.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”

American Dream alive and well. The land of opportunity is our home. We can’t take our freedoms for granted, as these freedoms are not free. It is our duty to preserve and protect the land we cherish.

We thank and salute the brave men and women who have fought–and continue to fight–for our country, the American Dream, and our freedoms. They sacrifice so that we don’t have to. Their bravery will always be remembered.

Because of the brave, America is the home of freedom. America is, in many ways, the best nation in the entire world.
