Tucker Carlson of Fox News slammed President Joe Biden’s willingness to put blame on anyone but him for sky-high gasoline prices and the inflation that has crippled America’s economy.
Tucker Carlson Tonight’s May 12 Edition featured Carlson blasting Biden for improperly pointing fingers at the Russian President Vladimir PutinInflation. “Vladimir Putin, for all his faults, did not cause inflation in the United States. Inflation in America was caused by the U.S. government’s economic managers. And they did it the old fashioned way: by printing a ton of money very quickly and that devalued our currency.” This makes “Biden very much like the classic arsonist fireman,” Tucker pointed out. “He created the disaster he now claims he will fix. ‘I just happened to be here! I’ll put it out,’” he joked.
Biden has continually pinned high gas prices and inflation on the so-called “Putin’s price hike.”
Carlson emphasized the massive scale on which Biden and “his whole economic team” inflated the money supply:
“Our money supply is going up faster than it ever has in American history. As at today [the money supply]More than $22 Trillion. It was $15.3 trillion on February 3, 2020. If you don’t have one handy, this is a 43% increase in the nation’s money supply within just two years. So what’s the result? The result is predictable and obvious.”
Inflation soared 8.1 percent in April, beating economists’ expectations. Oil prices rose by 44 percent and airfares increased 33 percent. Meanwhile, eggs, used cars, hotels and other items went up 23 percent in April compared with the same period last year. In the past 12 months, food prices have risen by an astonishing 9.4 per cent. This is the biggest increase in just one year. And to make things worse, baby formula shortages also set in across America, with stores stocking about “43 percent less baby formula than usual” just last week, according to The New York Times.
Carlson argued that it’s actually the U.S. government who benefits from skyrocketing inflation while Americans suffer:
“[W]There is too much debt. And the only way out of that is to devalue the U.S. dollar, otherwise the U.S. government won’t be able to afford the interest payments on the money that it owes. No one says that out loud but it’s absolutely true. Without inflation, the U.S. will go bankrupt. You have to pay the price for their bad policies.”
