Vile Guest on MSNBC: Roe Decision a ‘Vestige of Slavery’

You can file this under Everything Is Racist. As you can imagine, Nicolle’s MSNBC program on Friday featured a long and primal scream as a reaction to Roe v. Wade being overturned by the Supreme Court. But one of Wallace’s guests took things in an absurd-yet-predictable direction. Michele Goodwin, a professor at UC Irvine, somehow managed to tie the decision to—of course—Jim Crow, and yes, slavery.

Goodwin was here:

We remain connected to slavery’s vestiges. This is evident in our daily lives in the United States, where we can see it in white supremacy’s rise. These are tied to efforts to abolish Roe v. Wade.

So, when we are trying to do it correctly, we should Latest Have a conversation and be open about your feelings We still have the remnants of Jim Crow and American slavery. That is what I am referring to We have non-free and free states right now as it relates to bodily autonomy. “

Wallace replied with astonishment, “It’s amazing!” Incredible. It is an incredible, incredible“A way of thinking about the day that will be forever a part our history.”

Let’s see if we get this right: being pro-life is being pro-slavery. And states that adopt pro-life laws are the equivalent of antebellum slave states—-despite the fact that a disproportionate number of the lives being saved will be those of black children. While African-Americans make up just 13 percent of America’s population, they account for 38% of abortions.

Goodwin was also able to incorporate a surprising number of phrases from woke speak into her short comments. Goodwin spoke in 60 seconds and mentioned the following: “centering,” “arc toward justice,” “lean towards,” and “recentered.” Very well played.

Wallace felt deeply and deeply affected by Goodwin’s words. He said, “Incredible, Incredible, Amazing, Incredible”

Nicolle Wallace, Nicolle’s MSNBC guest, called the Supreme Court decision to reverse Roe v. Wade a “vestige” of Jim Crow and slavery. This was partly sponsored by Infiniti and Abbott, makers of Ensure and Servpro.

MICHELE GOODWIN: The midterm elections are going to mean a lot. This is a North Star moment for me, which I see as part of a third Reconstruction. It is possible to understand 1865 as the end of slavery being part of the first Reconstruction. The middle section, which is the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act are considered to be the second Reconstructions.
