What is college? It doesn’t seem like it. Yet, many campuses are trying to clobber “colonization.”
Central Michigan University is one of those.
As reported by Campus Reform, CMU’s giving attendees “tips and tricks” in order for them to be “antiracist” this year.
Last fall semester saw an employment of the “I AM ANTIRACIST” campaign, and the program’s been renewed for spring.
For those not in the know, per CNN, “antiracism” fights microaggressions such as these:
- “White privilege doesn’t exist.”
- “All lives matter.”
- “Don’t blame me; I never owned slaves.”
Also:
“I’m colorblind; I don’t care if you’re white, black, yellow, green or purple.”
And since you don’t necessarily know, you should never utter the following:
“You’re so well spoken/articulate” or “You don’t sound black.”
I AM ANTIRACIST comes courtesy of CMU’s Office of Multicultural Academic Student Services (MASS), and this semester sports a discussion series.
From CM Life.com
[I AM ANTIRACIST]This course will teach you how to accept students from an anti-racist viewpoint. …
Every semester, seven events will include a presentation from a university office. This includes Central Michigan University Admissions and Office of Residence Life. …
Each presenting office will present a workshop and a presentation, with tips and tricks.
The April 13 panel will feature representatives from the academics, athletics, student retention, and other campus areas.
Additional support for the campaign comes from the Office of Diversity and Education, as well as by the Institute for Transformative Dialogue.

The Volunteer Center’s event will have students “talk about centering our volunteerism away from white savior ship [sic],” as MASS Interim Assistant Director Wade Tomson told Central Michigan Life.
CMU’s website describes the April 13th shindig thusly:
Turn Antiracism Awareness into Antiracist Action! The panel will help faculty, students and staff to see the world through an antiracist lens. They will discuss campus life in their area of expertise and offer practical tips for those who attend.
If CNN’s antiracism explainer is accurate, the campaign is curious: It intends to ensure people are judged according to their race…and, therefore, end racism.
Is it possible?
Another peculiarity: Many movements only exist because of an evident opposition. What — or who — is the school fighting?
A room can be filled with 10 people who agree to take on the white supremacy.
CMU is there any student who believes that racism should prevail
It is difficult to understand the complexities involved in pummeling perniciously pale people.
However, if campus antiracists can find the KKK and can defeat them by canceling their colorblindness then good luck.
Furthermore, decolonizing the colonial college would be a great idea. The Colonial era was 350 years ago.
Whichever way it breaks down, if a subjugated people can be freed, we’re certainly all the better for it.
However, there is one question: In the midst of all this work to uphold white supremacy, when are we going to have any time for study?
In the end, perhaps, “I am educated” is okay. But “I am antiracist” is better.
