Twitter To Give Musk Raw Bot Data: Report

A new report suggested Twitter agreed to provide Elon Musk with raw data concerning the platform’s bot accounts.

The Washington Post first reported Twitter’s decision. Twitter had been reported to be ready to hand over large quantities of raw data.

The PostAccording to reports, the raw data could be used by Musk and his team for determining how many accounts are fake. Musk purchased the platform at $44 billion.

Twitter, reportedly when asked whether the report was true, referred to an earlier statement.

“Twitter has and will continue to cooperatively share information with Mr. Musk to consummate the transaction in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement,” the previous statement read according to the New York Times. “We believe this agreement is in the best interest of all shareholders. We intend to close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement at the agreed price and terms.”

NewsBusters reported Musk’s claims that the number of bot accounts reported by Twitter could be inaccurate.

Musk: My offer was based upon Twitter’s SEC filings being correct. tweetedAt the time. “Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%. This agreement cannot be moved forward unless he shows proof of 5%.

Twitter encouraged its shareholders to vote in favor of the agreement previously.

“If the merger is completed, you will be entitled to receive $54.20 in cash, without interest and subject to any applicable withholding taxes, for each share of our common stock that you own (unless you have properly exercised your appraisal rights),” Twitter told its shareholders at the time.
