We’ve done a lot of reporting on Hunter Biden’s emails from his abandoned laptop.
One of the reasons Joe Biden found the email scandalous was Hunter’s at-least one bank account that they commingled. Thus anything that Hunter was involved in could potentially drag in Joe, and Hunter’s finances are currently being investigated by the FBI.
On top of that, Joe Biden had claimed that he knew nothing about his son’s business. But his son’s business partner was intimately involved in the handling of various aspects of Joe’s finances — everything from doing his taxes to paying his mortgage. How did this happen? Plus Hunter was paying some of Joe’s bills and vice versa. Why? With that and the commingled accounts, it means that contrary to what Joe said, he may have been benefiting from Hunter’s business actions because of that.
Now, George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley is pointing to that commingling of funds, noting how it contradicts Joe Biden’s repeated claims that he was unaware and uninvolved in past dealings by his son. Turley then reveals his thoughts on what should happen now.
Given these links, there are legitimate questions of why the Justice Department has not sought a special counsel in the ongoing investigation of alleged money-laundering and tax violations linked to the president’s son. More important, even though there have been no criminal charges against Hunter, James Biden’s uncle, and possible his father, President Biden. [….]
Eric Schwerin’s new emails, which he sent to his Rosemont Seneca business partner, are most notable. They refer to the payment of Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s household bills. Also, he notes that he transferred money to Joe Biden. If true, the communications indicate that some of President Biden’s personal expenses were paid out of shared accounts with Hunter, including accounts that may have been used to pay for prostitutes. Rosemont Seneca has been directly implicated in the alleged influence trading schemes and questionable transfers of money from Chinese and Russian resources. [….]
It is difficult to ignore the fact that there appears to be a conflict even if it was not directly in question.
“The Big Guy” is now president and his administration is handling an investigation that could have political as well as legal implications for him and his family. Maybe it’s time for a Special Counsel.
Turley said it in another Fox interview, as well. Turley explained that we need a special counsel for at least an independent report about the subject to answer all of these possible conflicts and influence queries.
A special counsel was appointed to look into the Russian collusion claims made by Democrats/Hillary Clinton. This was a fake hoax that caused division in the country and cost us millions. This hoax was cultivated by Democrats and the media for many years with false attacks.
Where’s the special counsel to investigate the real issues that exist here? In the past, Republicans called for this. Now, you even have liberals like Turley, looking at the situation on the legal merits and saying it’s time. This is exactly the kind of situation where you need it — where there are valid questions of conflicts and influence peddling, not to mention potential, foreign government connection.
