Trump NOT Coming Back to Twitter, Will Focus on His Own ‘TRUTH Social’ – Opinion

Trump’s former president declared Monday that he won’t return to Twitter if the ban on him being on it is lifted. This ban may be lifted now that Elon Musk purchased the company to make it private.

After, this. Tucker CarlsonThe Babylon BeeThey were able to access their accounts again Monday.

Trump was removed from Twitter two days after protests at Capitol Hill on January 8, 2021.

Trump stated that he plans to concentrate on TRUTH Social his social media platform. It was launched in February and had a rough start.  Forbes published a report about the situation at that point:

It is also a known fact that although hundreds of thousands may have registered, many have not been able to spread the truth. Multiple news outlets have reported similar stories, in which sign-ups were met with an endless stream of error messages.

It ranks 36th in the Apple App Store’s March list, but hasn’t gained much popularity. Meanwhile, TRUTH’s stock tumbled Monday after Twitter announced the Musk deal.

Trump was decisive when he made his declaration. Fox News:

I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.

He explained:

We’re taking in millions of people, and what we’re finding is that the response on TRUTH is much better than being on Twitter. We are working hard to stop fake Twitter accounts and bots. Bottom line: I’m not returning to Twitter.

Trump’s tweets were legendary, driving the Left insane while delighting the Right with their combativeness combined with humor. Here’s a classic:

Pervert alert. Twitter is now @RepWeiner Block him immediately for all girls younger than 18 years.

His Instagram feed has been the talk of the town for many days, whether you love him or not.

DailyWire has compiled a list of his greatest tweets, and there’s even a large, glossy coffee table book called “@realDonaldTrump: Donald Trump’s tweets 2017-2021” available. Trump was a household name with over 80 million followers at his peak. Many people would like to see him return.

It’s never a good idea to bet against Donald Trump, but I truly wonder if this is a good move for him. TRUTH Social has a long way to go before it can gain the same influence as Twitter. However, now that Twitter is more open to conservatives, this could be an opportunity to return. As discussed, The Donald’s tweets were enormously popular and gave him an influence he might not have otherwise had (even when you take into account the rallies).

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Trump changes his mind and we see his hot takes making waves on Twitter again, especially if (when?) He decides to run again for the presidency.
