The Democrat midterm gambit known as the House January 6 Committee held hearings Tuesday, spurring the host of MSNBC’s Morning JoeTo trash all Republicans in Missouri on Tuesday morning. They used the desperate grab for attention by Republican Senate candidate Eric Greitens in Missouri as a way of trashing all Republicans and touting Democrats as the defenders of democracy.
Greitens felt that it would make sense to show Greitens entering a house equipped with a weapon and wearing tactical armor. You see, he was “RINO hunting.” You can make your own conclusion about whether that tactic is going to work. It works well for MSNBC.
As always, co-host Joe Scarborough led the conversations by using their favorite F-word for Republicans: “Every Republican needs to call this out unless they want fascism to continue to rise in their party.” Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson took it up a level higher by stating: “Yeah, Benito Mussolini would love it.” He even added that “this is not a legitimate political discourse, as the Republican Party might call it.”
Scarborough explained to his yes-men that “this is what they (Republicans) do,” expressing that there are “several examples.” Scarborough then went on to talk about January 6 (again) and ads like Greitens’, calling out this “rise of American fascism.”
However, the MSNBC show still missed the mark when critiquing the ad, especially when Scarborough stated that “Republicans don’t call it out.” These people are clearly failing to take a look at the bigger picture. Greitens ads are not supported by the majority of right-leaning people, which has already been criticised. These people are definitely not fascists.
It seemed like every Republican was like Greitens, and loathes democracy from the way Scarborough described it. On a less serious note, Scarborough seems to have forgotten all of the violence perpetrated by the peaceful, like the attempt at assassinating Justice Kavanaugh and multiple attacks on churches or pro-life pregnancy center. Labeling everyone on the right violent is downright absurd.
As usual, midterm elections were a subject of discussion because the team is beginning to recognize that there’s a chance the left won’t win.
Mika Brzezinski made quite a tone-deaf comment stating: “This is why, unfortunately, This is all that matters when casting your ballot.” This insightful comment is surely infuriating to those who are really struggling right now with the nonstop rise of inflation, gas prices and other necessities of daily life. Brzezinski thinks that every American is thinking about the rise of fascism?
Even better, the topics of guns, abortion, interest rates and gas prices were mentioned on the show, but according to the almighty Joe Scarborough, fearing the “growing wing of the Republican Party” is more important; even though the majority of right-leaning Americans are once again, not aspiring fascists.
So Joe and friends, saying that an actual fascist dictator would be proud of the right, and that this election is about “pro-democracy versus anti-democracy”, is not only offensive, but it is also tone-deaf to real issues people are facing, and insulting to all those regular Americans out there who just don’t want a progressive, left-wing takeover.
This example of media bias was made possible by Vroom and IHOP.

JOE SCARBOROUGH [Talking about the Greitens ad.]This is fascism. It uses violence and images to tell people: “Vote with me.” It’s coming. You know, it’s — it’s where we are. This is where the Republican Party stands right now. Every Republican should call this out, if they do not want fascism continuing to grow in their party.
EUGENE ROBINSON: Yeah, Benito Mussolini would be proud. Just one more question. Is making terroristic threats an federal crime? I mean, why is this not –I mean- literally, you know, I’m like–I’m a free speech, pretty much, absolutist, but this is threatening.
It’s threatening primary opponents or anyone– or any Republican who dares disagree with him with, you know, with assault, with a S.W.A.T. It would lead to their deaths. It is illegal to do this and it must be punished. This is unacceptable. This is not acceptable in political — this is not a legitimate political discourse, as the Republican Party might call it. Nothing less. This is an act of terror.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: This is what they do, Gene, this is what- this is what they do and Mika we’ve had several examples. A Congressman (whose name I don’t want to give) was holding an AR-15. After he said that they had to chase the squad, the photo showed four Democratic Congresswomen. They were basically looking for Congressmen. We see it time and again. Republicans do not call it out. We’re seeing it here with the Greitens’ ad.
This is something I wish Republicans would do, but they aren’t. Let me just emphasize, once again, that we are referring to the American rise of fascism. The January 6th can be viewed. These ads can be seen. You could also see the continuing use of violence imagery. Donald Trump is known for telling people in his audience to beat up those who disagree with him. Fascism is it.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI
There are many issues that we have fallen back upon. Right now, however, the only issue that matters is this one, as Hillary Clinton stated. It’s either we move forward toward continuing a democracy or we fall into something very dark and very frightening and very real. This is not an exaggeration, particularly when you consider how it pervades our politics starting at the bottom. It all started with Donald Trump.
While there are many reasons why we have arrived at this point, some of these are also due to past presidencies. We could continue that discussion, or we can take all the blame. But, here we are. That is the most important thing. In terms of voting, it’s not Democrat/Republican.
SCARBOROUGH: No, no it’s not, and it’s not—it—it is– it is a growing wing inside the Republican Party. Really, again, we can debate abortion, we can debate guns, we can debate –
BRZEZINSKI : We should.
SCARBOROUGH: — Interest rates, we can debate –
BRZEZINSKI: Gas prices.
SCARBOROUGH – Quantitative easing. While we can discuss a lot of different topics, for the growing Republican Party wing, it is just pro-democracy against anti-democracy.
