The View’s Hostin Repeats LIE U.S. ‘Already in a War’ With Russia

Sunny Hostin was again beating the drum of war on Monday’s edition of The ViewShe was again calling for an international no-fly zone in Ukraine. This would have the effect of dragging NATO and the U.S. into another war with Russia. She was instantly rebuffed by co-hosts, who rebutted her call for a “no-fly” zone over Ukraine.

Whoopi Goldberg was the co-host and was eager to hear from someone who would defend President Biden. “They say, well, this is all Biden’s fault,” she huffed. “But I want someone to tell me, well, what is he supposed to do?”

Ignoring how Biden’s response has been so slow that it makes all moves wholly reactionary rather than preemptive, Hostin touted his decisions thus far. “[I]It seems like we have strengthened our economic sanctions. Then people said, “No oil.” We’ve done that,” she said.

She followed up by calling for the “final step” needed to supposedly stop Russia: “the no-fly zone.”

“You have someone like Putin that is saying, if you shoot my planes down during my war, I will consider that an act of war,” she scoffed as she went on to lie about the state of the conflict. “We’re already in a war with them, and then where do we go—”

There was a flurry of crosstalk as Goldberg and co-host Joy Behar swiftly countered Hostin’s falsehood:

GOLDBERG – We are not at war with Putin. It’s not yet.

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR! Hold on! This world doesn’t need World War III. This country is equipped with nuclear weapons. We’ve been under this gun of nuclear weapons since I’m a child.

(…)

BEHAR: A crazy individual with nukes cannot be trusted. Sorry.

“So, do we allow him to kill all Ukraine,”Hostin was hyperbolic in his response. “But when does he stop Joy, when does he stop?”

Former VP press secretary Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in to argue that Putin needs to be extended “some kind of an off-ramp” so the war can be de-escalated. “This could be stopped quickly diplomatically,” she said as Goldberg interrupted to ask “how?”

Farah, on the other hand, appeared to contradict herself by stating that she agreed with Hostin.

FARAH – We must cut him out from any international market that the U.S. or Europeans have used.

HOSTIN: China doesn’t.

FARAH – But, India, China and Switzerland are all necessary for the mission to succeed. You must make him feel so alone that he cannot even carry out this mission. Sunny is my support. I’m with Sunny.

But a no-fly zone is not an “off-ramp,” it’s an escalation. To enforce a no fly zone, it involves shooting down Russian planes over Ukraine and also destroying Russian ground-to-air missile stations on the ground in Russia, aimed at Ukraine.

A couple of minutes later, Hostin made another false claim regarding Russian threats to Ukraine’s west supply. “But now Putin is saying, if you send those weapons, I will also consider that an act of war,” She incorrectly paraphrased.

In reality, Russia said they would consider the supply shipments “legitimate targets.” The question is where will they strike those supplies.

Sunny Hostin made these lies possible through lucrative sponsorships from Crests and Vicks. This link will take you to their contact information.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG (Yes, we’ve been talking, and I asked, So all of this stuff is brought up. These people say that it is Biden’s fault.

SUNNY HOOSTIN: No.

GOLDBERG It is my wish for someone to stand on the other side of this issue and tell me what you can do. This is how you can combat it.

HOSTIN: I’m sorry, but it seemed to me that we have strengthened economic sanctions. Then people said, “No oil.” This is what we’ve accomplished. In my opinion, the last step is to establish a no-fly area. We have discussed this on the show. Putin says that if your planes are shot down in my war, that’s an act of war. Now we’re in war with them.

GOLDBERG – We are not at war with Putin. It’s not yet.

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR! Hold on! This world doesn’t need World War III. This country is equipped with nuclear weapons. We’ve been under this gun of nuclear weapons since I’m a child.

HOSTIN – But, Joy when will he cease Joy when does Joy cease?

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: That’s it, there’s no off-ramp for Putin.

BEHAR: A crazy individual with nukes cannot be trusted. Sorry.

FARAH: A ramp must be provided for him.

HOSTIN: Do we let him kill the entire Ukraine?

BEHAR: China has to be included. Someone else must come here.

GOLDBERG : Here’s the problem. What were you about to answer?

FARAH – He requires some sort of off-ramp. Putin is an extremely reckless person. He’s in trouble. His arm is tired. It’s almost 90 percent of it is in Ukraine. We could stop it diplomatically.

GOLDBERG: How?

FARAH – We must cut him out from any international market that the U.S. or Europeans have used.

HOSTIN – China has not.

FARAH – But, India, China and Switzerland are all necessary for the mission to succeed. You must make him feel so alone that he cannot even carry out this mission. Sunny is my support. I’m with Sunny.

GOLDBERG: Well, here’s the thing–

BEHAR: Do you want to be involved in a nuclear conflict? Is that you?

FARAH – Yesterday, the Russians came within ten mile of Poland. Poland is an NATO ally. We would then invoke Article V.

BEHAR: It’s provocative, yes.

FARAH: We can also get the Ukrainian army more military equipment. These MiGs should be purchased. They should be purchased.

GOLDBERG: I don’t think we’re not – I don’t think people aren’t giving all that — not doing all of this.

HOSTIN: Now Putin says — Sorry, Whoopi. HOSTIN: But Putin now says, “If you send these weapons, I’ll also consider it an act of war.”

GOLDBERG (The Truth) Putin can speak whatever he pleases.
