With inflation at a 40-year-high because of President Biden’s runaway spending early in his administration, the liberal cast of The View came out Thursday with the singular mission of gaslighting their viewers on the reason why they’re struggling to make ends meet. With them blaming everything from Congress to the pandemic to climate change, co-host Whoopi Goldberg demanded to know “what do you want him to do?!” and unironically told viewers “don’t let people BS you.”
“Inflation rates just hit a 40-year high, and there are calls coming from both sides of the aisle and the media for the Biden administration to figure out ways to fix it,” Goldberg announced at the top of the show. “So, here’s my question: what do you want him to do that he’s not doing?”According to her, “I don’t know very many folks who could juggle this many balls in the air at the same time.”
Goldberg lamented Biden has had to contend with “COVID and then COVID-19, and then COVID-21, and then COVID’s COVID’s cousin, you know, and there’s that, and there’s the wars, and there’s inflation going up, which is happening all over the world, it’s not just us.”
She then blamed the pain on Republicans who she falsely accused of raising taxes when in reality they passed a tax cut. “I have been saying cut the taxes that you raised six years ago so people can get a little bit more money back in their pocket before everything went to hell in a handbasket,”She laughed.
Co-host and wealthy lawyer Sunny Hostin suggested the problem was that Americans were too stupid to understand that inflation wasn’t Biden’s fault and that “the answer is educating the American people” that “climate change” was a contributing factor:
This is why I believe education is so important. Our inflation rate of 9.1 percent is due to many factors. (…) It’s a global pandemic. (…) The war in Ukraine. China’s production has been slowed by the pandemic. The lockdown was in effect. Climate change is also a factor.
“It’s not Joe Biden”Her ultimate lesson?
Of course, they also had Chelsea Clinton on set to provide backup, suggesting, “the President and his administration care deeply about the American people, and after his predecessor, that I think is an important thing to acknowledge.”
Clinton when on to bloviate about how “the administration has tried many things to get in front of the inflation crisis” but Congress has stood in their way, despite the fact Democrats hold the majority in both the House and Senate.
“So, we can say we think they should be doing more and a different set of things, but we shouldn’t sit here and pretend they haven’t cared or that haven’t taken action because they do care and they have taken action,”She ridicules critics.
Faux Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin tried to criticize Biden for cutting domestic oil production and then “relying on egregious human rights violators like the Saudis” and Venezuela. Goldberg intervened and claimed, without any evidence, American oil companies had been hoarding oil in an effort to raise the price. “Or maybe we can rely on the people who are in charge of domestic production like all the oil companies who own – they could release some of that too. I mean, call me crazy,” she sneered.
Goldberg’s declaration at the end of the segment was the crowning touch. “don’t let people BS you about what’s going on here.”

GOLDBERG You know, I don’t understand. You know, this — I don’t know very many folks who could juggle this many balls in the air at the same time.
I mean, he’s gotten hit with, you know, COVID and then COVID-19, and then COVID-21, and then COVID’s COVID’s cousin, you know, and there’s that, and there’s the wars, and there’s inflation going up, which is happening all over the world, it’s not just us.
That’s what I wanted to do, so I will ask anyone. Do you have any ideas? Cut the taxes you have raised in six years to make it a little easier for people to get some money back before things went sour. There are other things that could go wrong. Is there anything that could happen? What could happen?

SUNNY HOTIN: Education of the American people is the solution, I believe. You’re absolutely right [to Alyssa Farah Griffin]. They visit the grocery store and then go to gas station to see what the prices are. This is the disconnect. It’s not clear why. The Biden administration is the only one to blame.
This is why I believe education is so important. The reason why the inflation rate in our country is 9.1 percent? Look at the inflation rates in all countries around the globe. 60 percent have very high levels. This is due to the global pandemic. It is a worldwide pandemic. It’s also because
CHELSEA CLINTON: Ukraine’s war on terror.
HOSTIN – The conflict in Ukraine. China’s production has been slowed by the pandemic. They had to lock down, then there is climate change. So all of these factors are contributing to this inflation. It’s not Joe Biden.
GOLDBERG: Right.
CLINTON: Yes, but I believe it — could I speak quickly? The President and his staff clearly care about American citizens, which is something I find important to admit.
GOLDBERG: Mm-hmm.
[Applause]
CLINTON: He isn’t being passive. Right? Inflation is a problem that the administration tried numerous things. Last year, they tried to reduce prescription drug prices. Congress stopped them. They attempted to reduce taxes. Congress did not support this. He released oil from the strategic petroleum reserve. It’s a credit to the Biden administration for all they’ve done. We can argue that they need to do more or a different set, but they shouldn’t pretend not to care. They care, and have taken action.

ALYSSA FARAH GRAFIN: I have one question about the Saudi visit where the President will be going. It’s an important – It’s an important trip that he be there, I hope that he raises human rights when he’s there, I think that he will. But I’ve got to say this he stopped domestic production and now we’re relying on egregious human rights violators like the Saudis to produce more oil, and he even at one point talked about Venezuela to go.
So, I would say this: I’m a conservative environmentalist, we need an all-of-the-above approach to energy, but when we’re in a crisis and people can’t afford gas, we need to be doing domestic production, not relying on human rights abusers.
GOLDBERG: Or maybe we can rely on the people who are in charge of domestic production like all the oil companies who own – they could release some of that too. You can call me insane.
[Applause]
HOSTIN: They could also lower prices.
CLINTON: They could also lower prices.
GOLDBERG : They could also lower prices.
[Crosstalk]
GOLDBERG: This is – Again, don’t let people BS you about what’s going on here.
