The View Blames GOP for Biden Not Approving MiG Transfer to Ukraine

For days, President Biden has refused to approve or facilitate the transfer of MiG-29 fighter jets from Poland to Ukraine because of the asinine argument that they’re “offensive” weapons and not “defensive” ones. But according to the cackling coven on ABC’s The ViewThis was the fault of the Congressional Republicans, and perhaps even former President Trump.

“I’m sorry. Where were all these Republicans when the former guy in office was holding money hostage saying, we’re not going to give you the money until you give me the information about Beau Biden,”Whoopi Goldberg, cohost of the show, complained after she played a number of soundsbites from Republicans criticizing Biden.

After correcting Goldberg that it was Hunter Biden, former VP press secretary Alyssa Farah Griffin declared that she wanted to make it “abundantly clear” that “Donald Trump is not president anymore and we have a humanitarian crisis–”

She was then cut off by Goldberg, who shouted: “No. No. This doesn’t make sense — I’m sorry. This guy is not performing his duties. He’s doing what he’s supposed to do.”

Farah pushed back by noting “[w]e have thousands of Ukrainians dying every day” and if you don’t want to impose a no-fly zone because of the risks, then “he’s asking for MiGs, for military aircraft that will allow him to enforce a no-fly zone.”

“I understand that. “I understand that. What I find offensive is the fact these people are suddenly all concerned now about what’s happening,” Goldberg huffed.

Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in to live up to the “ABC News standards” of taking information out of context as she screeched about how “31 Republicans voted against providing military aid for the Ukraine[.]” “So, this is a lot of posturing by the Republican Party, and I think it’s despicable, and I think it’s disgusting, and I don’t think you should defend it,”Farah was not looking at her, so she turned away.

“We only have to date, I think, about two Democrats that have opposed the fighter jet transfer. Dick Durbin is the one and Mark Kelly are the other. Richard Blumenthal opposed it but now supports it. So, I think a lot of the opposition that we’re seeing to provide those fighter jets are coming from the Republican side,”Sie affirmed.

Hostin forgot to mention that these Republicans were present in the Senate. They did not approve of Ukraine aid being linked to a bill to fund U.S. Federal government. This was a tactic by Democrats to get such a reaction from their media shills like Hostin.

Even Politico, a left-leaning magazine admitted that it was motivated by Republicans. “The bills were tied together in the Senate, where most Republicans opposed the package. Senate Republicans on Wednesday said they would have voted differently on a standalone Ukraine bill,” they wrote on Wednesday.

Adding: “More than 100 Republicans voted for both bills in the House, underscoring a level of unity amid the Kremlin invasion.”

Hostin can help with the math. 100 is more than 31, and Biden, the leader of both the Democratic Party (and the president), is 100. He’s the one standing in the way of Ukraine getting those jets.

WHOOPI GLOBBERG: My apologies. What happened to all the Republicans who held money hostage while the former man in office said that we wouldn’t pay you until Beau Biden gave me information — no, Beau Biden.

ALYSSA FARAH FIFFIN is Hunter.

GOLDBERG: Hunter or Goldberg? Hunter Biden. They didn’t seem to be concerned that the issue was being raised, especially when President of Ukraine stated, “Listen!” This is what we need. He dangled. We must be able defend ourselves. I don’t know where you were. I don’t remember you giving a good blessed – [shakes head clenches fists]

FARAH: Whoopi. Let me share my location with you, Whoopi. My job was with the United States Department of Defense. We were working tirelessly to ensure that this aid to Ukraine is released and security assistance provided.

GOLDBERG: What was the point of holding it up?

FARAH – I believe that that is a question that was addressed in impeachment. I suspect that many people look back on that first impeachment to say, “hey, I should’ve voted otherwise.”

[Crosstalk]

GOLDBERG See, you can’t do it. You’re sorry.

ANA NAVARRO : Secretary Pompeo is still silent. Here are all of the actions that Trump took. He did so much more. Propaganda was spread that claimed Ukraine was involved in the 2016 election. He repelled the highly respected U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine.

SUNNY HOSTIN: Yes, he did.

NAVARRO – Because she is who and what she does. He stopped all military assistance to Ukraine. A White House meeting with Zelenskyy was withheld by him, due to Zelenskyy’s inability to play ball with him. Rudy Giuliani took over Ukraine policy. [Cackles]

FARAH: Let me be very clear, Donald Trump has resigned as president and there is a humanitarian emergency.

GOLDBERG: No. No. This doesn’t make sense — I’m sorry. This guy is not performing his duties. He does what is expected of him.

[Crosstalk]

NAVARRO: They were there. Donald Trump could smell them so high that he couldn’t see the soul.

FARAH: There are thousands of Ukrainians who die every day. President Zelenskyy wants to know if you do not want a No-Fly Zone, which has many good reasons for and against. He’s asking for MiGs for military aircraft, that would allow him enforce the no-fly zones.

[Crosstalk]

GOLDBERG : That’s what I get. It is the fact that these people suddenly become all worried about what is happening that I find offensive.

HOSTIN: How concerned should they be if 31 Republicans last Thursday voted against military assistance for Ukraine? 31 Republicans.

FARAH: Yeah. That’s disgraceful. That’s disgraceful. I don’t disagree with that.

HOSTIN: The aforementioned voted for the impeachment. Alyssa and others voted to stop him from being impeached because of the actions he took in Ukraine. The Republican Party has been doing a lot of pleading, which I find despicable.

[Applause]

FARAH : Yes, I will. It’s quite simple. It’s a tradition of American politics that when there’s war, we don’t criticize the commander-in chief. Although we can give Joe Biden policy criticisms, I support Joe Biden. He is the president. However, I urge him to get the MiGs for the Ukrainians. For their defense, get them military planes.

HOSTIN : Congress is united in opposing President Zelenskyy’s request. He is in favor of the no-fly area. Although they’re all united in opposition to it, many Republicans oppose the provision of fighter jets.

There are only two Democrats who have voted against the fighter jet transfer to my knowledge. These are Mark Kelly and Dick Durbin. Richard Blumenthal opposed the plan, but now supports it. Accordingly, I believe that a majority of those who oppose the provision of fighter jets come from the Republican party.

NAVARRO — Yesterday Joe Biden gave an address, and we — yesterday he approved $800,000,000 in additional aid for Ukraine. That brings the total to more than a billion. The aid includes 9,008 anti-armor systems and 800 small arms. There are also 20,000,000 rounds of ammunition and 100 drones. Biden is helping Ukraine purchase additional long-range planes.

Mitt Romney, who spoke out in support of me, said that we should give them MiGs since we aren’t doing the no fly zone. Then give them all the other tools they need to win for their freedom.
