The Rittenhouse Trial Showed Us Why Cameras in Our Courtrooms Is The Proper Move for Our Legal System – Opinion

It was a good thing that we could watch the Rittenhouse trial live for the past few weeks.

Make no mistake, there has been no shortage of imbalanced visuals and cerebrally-challenged commentary surrounding the case over the past weeks that is the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. From a prosecution team that had dreams of a post-verdict TV career to a judge who was very comfortable in his robe or the defendant who became social media fodder after breaking down on the stand and a lawyer whose face-palm became a meme after his witness unraveled their case with one answer — this had all the earmarks of a legal jesters’ cabaret.

It was live and available for all to view. We must be grateful.

Yes, I am aware that there were many people who said this was a disaster of torts. The fact that cameras were present not only added to the laughter but also encouraged many of these shenanigans. Thomas Binger, the lead prosecutor, felt that he could have a career in front cameras. However, his ineptitude was highlighted by him pointing a gun towards the jury. He was trying to demonstrate recklessness and worse gun management.

Judge Bruce Schroeder also had a great time in front of the lens, loudly condemning certain actions by the prosecutors, but also allowing the case’s shoddy state to go on despite many reasons for a mistrial. Considering that this prosecution team has been such a disaster that airbags should have gone off at the plaintiff’s desk, the trial has not been curtailed. It would have cut down on the camera time.

We then witnessed the MSNBC/NBC News dramatize with possible jury tampering. A stringer for NBC was chasing down the juror’s vehicle, seemingly looking to learn who they were, in defiance of the safety protocols set up for them. But don’t you dare call the press the “enemy of the people.” The past few weeks, the journalists have been behaving like jackals, as there has been no shortage of wild claims about this case made in the press. It is not difficult to see the mistruths and misapplications of law.

  • Kyle Rittenhouse was not a citizen of any other state. His family is in Kenosha and he works there. Had been lending assistance to the area for days.
  • Kyle’s mother did not drive him to the riot. After he had finished work that day, he stayed in the region.
  • His gun was not illegally brought to him. He was keeping it at Kenosha, the home of a close friend.
  • Kyle was not in possession of his gun illegally. He was not allowed to possess his firearm under Wisconsin law.
  • The charges against Rittenhouse for being a white supremacist were never proven. FBI searches have not found any evidence to support such an assertion.
  • Kyle was accused by wearing gloves on the night of shooting to cover his fingerprints. Photos of Kyle sometimes without gloves dispel this idiocy. In the gloves photos you can clearly see his face..
  • This trial is being called race-based by the media, even though every player is white.
  • According to press reports, Kyle imposed violence on the city after he was inspired by Kenosha. This is because conservative media brainwashed Kyle with lies about strife. They must ignore all the violence occurring before his arrival in order for this story to be true.
  • Kyle was not the one who took part in shooting; it was his colleagues that initiated all of the conflict.
  • While Rittenhouse has been demonized by the media for possessing a weapon, it is important to remember that Gaige grosskreutz was also a firearm owner and pointed it at Rittenhouse just before Rittenhouse was killed.
  • Grosskreutz did interviews immediately after his stand-up appearance and contradicted himself.
  • Joe Scarborough stated Rittenhouse fired 60 rounds of ammunition. He made a statement so absurdly wrong, it was used in closing arguments to illustrate the behaviour of the press during trials.

These errors, misrepresentations and lies are just a fraction of what has been said about the case. This has become a full-blown circus of media representations and narrative building.  But the great thing about all of this is there was a tonic to all this delirium — we were able to see the facts for ourselves. The trial was a fascinating watch. We did not need to be reliant on the dramatic musers who had an axe to grind.

The fact that cameras were allowed in this courtroom had a two-pronged effect — we could ascertain the facts of the trial, and it exposed the media as the corrupt cabal that they are. Joe Scarborough accidentally proved that these proceedings needed to be televised. He was embarrassed for giving inaccurate information about the case and he ranted in defense declaring that he was embarrassed. on behalf of the defense lawyerfor noting his rationality in court records.

Joe then went even further. Joe slammed anyone who believed his absurd claim that Kyle Rittenhouse had fired 60 rounds. He also took his claims as true. This is what TV pundits are like. Listen to the audienceTo what he spoke and to believing him.

What is most noteworthy about Scarborough’s testimony? His asinine accusation was quickly refuted because we could follow the trial. Because we were able to see the facts and evidence as well as hear all of his testimony, he was immediately called out. Imagine how many falsehoods would have been propagated in the media if there were no cameras at that court.

The cameras can have an impact on trial proceedings. With the Panaflex battalion’s arrival, the participants will behave differently. Keep in mind that media doesn’t behave differently. They have an agenda and are incapable of controlling their coverage. We can see the problem for ourselves, and measure how badly they behave.

Although you may not enjoy the look of roaches in your yard, try to picture what their activities are if they do. NotFlip the switch to turn on.
