The Name of the New COVID-19 Variant Perfectly Encapsulates the Lunacy of Our Response – Opinion

You’ve probably heard by now that there’s a new “variant” of COVID-19 spreading in Africa. The actual information is not clear. Officials in Africa are largely downplaying this threat, while Western officials seem completely confused. So yeah, things are going about as you’d expect.

The World Health Organization has given the new variant an official name: Omicron. At first glance, that might seem like an odd choice, but it’s actually a letter in the Greek alphabet, which has been the naming regime for COVID-19 since the Alpha variant.

If you are familiar with Greek letters, then you might have noticed the missing letter. Originally, what is now called being called the Omicron variant was called the Nu variant because Nu was next in line, though an official designation hadn’t come yet. This was the name I could find in all media reports prior to yesterday. However, the WHO changed the Omicron name to Omicron.

What was that letter?

That’s right. Had things stayed on track, the next variant would have been the “Xi” variant. This is the name of Xi Jinping, a Chinese dictator who also loves Winnie The Pooh. While the authorities refuse to place any blame on China, they are changing names for variants in order to preserve the sentiments of the dictator who caused it all. If that doesn’t perfectly encapsulate the lunacy of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, then nothing does.

Once you understand that the entire coronavirus situation is politically motivated, then many of your other bizarre decisions will make sense. Chinese have a history of buying and paying for WHO. RedState has extensively reported on corruption and the slowing down of investigations into origins of this virus. This new name decision seems to continue the knee-bending.

When a dictator has been responsible for millions of deaths worldwide, it is absurd that the entire world rushes to defend him. But here we are, with the world’s most powerful health organization doing the bidding of genocidal communists. I’m sure that will all work out fine in the end.
