The ‘Durham Redux, Reacher, and Tapper Takes on China’ Edition – Opinion

Well, the elusive John Durham has come out with more titillating information in a filing last Friday (I covered that here) and the long and the short of it is, it’s not looking good for Hillary Clinton.

The Lady spoke today at the New York State Democrat Party Convention, and she was reportedly booed and heckled as she entered the hotel, with at least one protestor yelling “lock her up!”

Hillary Clinton, twice-failed presidential candidate was heckled by demonstrators on Thursday in Times Square at the Sheraton Hotel.

Clinton spoke at the New York State Democrat Party Convention.

When she arrived, Clinton was greeted by some shouting “lock her up” as she walked into the hotel.

“Lock her up!” one protester shouted.

While RedState readers aren’t likely to have much sympathy for Clinton, here’s a small reminder of what her own party thought of her following the 2016 election (read the entire Politico report, pulled from a book written by Donna Brazile, former interim chair of the Democratic National Committee).

Gary, the DNC’s financial advisor told me that they needed $2 million to fund their campaign.

“No! That can’t be true!” I said. “The party cannot take out a loan without the unanimous agreement of all of the officers.”

“Gary, how did they do this without me knowing?” I asked. “I don’t know how Debbie relates to the officers,” Gary said. He described the party as fully under the control of Hillary’s campaign, which seemed to confirm the suspicions of the Bernie camp. While the DNC was on life support, the campaign used the party to raise funds. FEC law allows individuals to contribute up to $2,700 directly towards a presidential campaign. But the limits are much higher for contributions to state parties and a party’s national committee.

“Wait,” I said. “That victory fund was supposed to be for whoever was the nominee, and the state party races. You’re telling me that Hillary has been controlling it since before she got the nomination?”

Gary stated that the campaign must do the job or else the party will collapse.

Why Clinton would strike a public pose now doesn’t seem particularly smart, but it is in keeping with her character. The old joke about how the Clinton’s dealt with the many scandals during her husband’s terms is that their messaging tendency was to declare anything unflattering, “old news.”

She’s striking a similar tone now. It’s a version of the other Democrat mainstay on subjects such as environmentalism and, most recently, COVID: the science is settled.

Unfortunately for Mrs. Clinton, Durham seems to have rediscovered a new scientific formula called “the rule of law.”

It’s going to be fun to see this play out.

I talk about all that on the show today, as well as offer thoughts on the violent but compelling “Reacher” (trailer below). There’s some stuff in there about Tapper, too, which I’m frankly torn about. Give it a try and let me know if I’m wrong.

The show lives on Spotify and you can also find me at iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, FCB Radio’s Spreaker, and Deezer.
