Over the last few days, the mainstream media have expressed jubilation at Joe Biden’s decision to release oil from the strategic reserves. It was a symbolic but temporary attempt to reduce gas prices, as holiday travelers gear up for travel. After insisting for months that Biden did not have any control over gas prices’, the media are now applauding him for apparently lowering them.
Except, it looks like that’s not actually going to happen, at least not at the level hoped. Per a new report, Russia and Saudi Arabia are gearing up to undercut Biden’s political ploy, which was obviously done in response to his cratering approval numbers.

The Biden administration played a complete game here. Russia and OPEC waited until we made a move on depleting our oil resources before announcing their intention to reduce production and compensate any gains. Worse still, since the law demands that the strategic reserves are replenished after a release occurs, the government is likely to have to cover an exorbitant cost of refilling the stockpile. The country is run by complete imbeciles.
This could have been predicted by anyone with half an brain. We have no control over foreign producers’ activities as long as Biden keeps domestic production at a standstill. No amount of whining and complaining about what OPEC is or isn’t doing is going to change that. They can be defeated by increasing domestic production, and allowing Keystone XL approval so the United States can continue to import oil from Canada. The president refuses to do that, though, because he’s under the impression that crushing domestic production helps fight “climate change.”
It makes absolutely no sense. Oil that is needed by the United States must come from somewhere. If it comes from Russia and the OPEC nations, it still gets burned and turned into carbon emissions — just the same as if it were pumped up in Alaska. The president has no reason to destroy American energy independence or jobs. Even if you are a big believer in “climate change,” the president’s strategy is asinine.
Biden’s focus is not on providing solutions. Instead, Biden is merely virtue signaling to his far left base and putting the middle class Americans in the blender. This means you pay higher prices while Jen Psaki accuses Saudi Arabia of not paying our bid when it is possible to fix the problem ourselves. It’s all one big game to the White House, meant to accelerate the transition to “clean” energy — even as we clearly do not have the technology or capacity to do so.
