The Bad Ship Kamala Continues to Crash Upon the Shore – Opinion

Kamala Harris took Joe Biden’s place in Europe two weeks back. Biden could have faced many problems if he had gone but Harris was able to handle her issues. Harris was ridiculed for her inept answers to questions about the U.S.’s plans regarding Ukrainian refugee refugees. She also seemed confused about where she was, saying “northern” rather than “eastern flank.” She was busted on it by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s former press secretary who later deleted her tweet.

The most troubling part about her speech at the DNC convention was where she misunderstoodly suggested that Ukraine was part NATO. The White House tried to clean that one up, adding a word into the transcript that she didn’t say to make it look better. Three days later, her Twitter account made the same mistake and deleted that tweet. The DNC was blamed for her mistake. This raises the question as to why she has her account managed by the DNC and what they can do to correct her error.

Now, after her mistakes in foreign policy, Nancy McEldowney, her National Security Advisor, is headed for the exit. She will be the 10th employee to replace Kamala Harris. She’s advised Harris and Biden on things like Afghanistan, Iran, Ukraine, and cybersecurity — the Biden-Harris team has messed up on most of those issues.

McEldowney said that she is stepping down to ‘focus on some pressing personal matters’ but will remain an impassioned supporter of the Biden Harris administration.

‘This was a difficult decision because I am so deeply committed to the work we do and the crucial national interest we serve. But after more than a year, this is the right decision for my family,’ she said.

McEldowney was in the Foreign Service for 31 years so she certainly knows that Ukraine isn’t part of NATO.

According to reports, Kamala may be a bully. This could explain her difficulty holding on to staff, and also why so many people have managed it out after just over a year. The problem, though, is that you can replace all the staff you want, but you still have the same problem which ultimately isn’t the staff — it’s Kamala.

However, her poll numbers still remain below 40 percent. The Real Clear Politics rolling median shows that 38.6% of respondents rate her favorably, and 53.7 percent give her an unfavorable rating.

You can only do so much to keep a sinking ship afloat and that’s basically what she is right now.
