Telemundo launches this week La Mesa Caliente, The Hot Table, an afternoon talk show hosted by four Latina television personalities who couldn´t resist discussing the new Florida Parental Rights in Education bill, labeled as ´Don´t Say Gay´ by activists; only one hostess, Mirka Dellanos, actually stood up for the role of parents in the education of their children; the other three chose to go along with has been aptly decried as the grooming of the youngest in a subject they cannot fully comprehend: sexuality and gender
While Dellanos fell for calling the bill “Don´t Say Gay”, she did point out that the “controversial” law addressed the trend seen throughout the nation of teachers “taking the liberty of teaching the children who are with them, in the classroom, about sexuality”, while parents “want to have the right to be able to teach their children what they want, the way they want, in their own home.”

MIRKA DELLANOS – Florida also passed controversial legislation regarding parental rights in education. It is known as “Don’t Say Gay”. This is what the new law is called. Teachers are now forbidden from speaking about sexual orientation in primary schools under this new bill.
…
We know Florida made this decision. It has been observed elsewhere in the country that teachers often allow their students to learn about sexuality. There are also many parents that disagree with this decision because they wish to allow their children to learn what they like in their home.

VERÓNICA BASTOS: Well, I believe that there is an age where one can start talking to them, definitely at three years old, at four years old, at five years old; not necessarily the age, I think, where you should talk to them about this kind of thing.
[…]
GISELLE BONDET: The children in school are what worries me. It is because they don’t have the freedom to explore their curiosity and/or show interest. In a sex partner of the exact same age, even though they may be very young
[…]
ALIX ASPE : Children at these ages start to identify in a specific way. I am very sorry that they are now unable to hear the word.
[…]
DELLANOS: … yes but the subject of sexuality and identity… identity is the most important thing for children. However, that identity must be established at home.
Fellow hostesses Giselle Blondet, Veronica Bastos and Alix Aspe went on to discuss how little kids under 9 could very well be attracted to children of their own sex – something they implied parent must go along with to prevent life-long trauma. However, and maybe unwittingly, they actually ended up confirming the validity of the bill. For example, when Dellanos said that she believed “that (talking about) the subject of sexuality to children under nine years of age” was a way of killing their innocence, Blondet added; “that depends on how much you’re going to tell them.” It is exactly what it says on the bill.
Bastos, for her part, also gave in with “at three years old, at four years old, at five years old, (it is) not necessarily the age, I think, where you should talk to them about this kind of thing”.
Nothing, however, prevented host Alix Aspe from parroting the progressive talking points with, “Many children at those ages begin to identify in a certain way. The word has been used many times. It is very frustrating that this word has become blocked..” Where in the legislation, may we ask, did Aspe read any mention of the word ‘gay’ or that the word gay “is now completely blocked”?
Hint: in the blocked minds of those who’d rather misinform to conform to the liberal bias in the news. Like we have said many times before, the nation’s Spanish-speaking audiences deserve better.

MIRKA DELLANOS – Florida also passed controversial legislation regarding parental rights in education. It is known as “Don’t Say Gay”. This is what the new law is called. It prohibits teachers talking about their sexual orientation in primary schools. Some people disagree with this bill, saying that it could deter children from the LBTGI+ communities. Others support it and say that kids should not discuss their sexuality so young. By a 22-to-17 vote, the Florida State Senate passed this law yesterday. We know Florida made this decision. It has been observed elsewhere in the country that teachers often allow their students to learn about sexuality in class. There are also many parents that disagree with this decision because they wish to allow their children to learn what they like in their home.
GISELLE BOONDET: That part is okay with me. The children in school are what worries me. It is not that they have freedom but that they are already showing curiosity and interest. In a sex partner of the exact same age, even though they may be very young
DELLANOS – They are under 9 years old.

BLONDET: I understand. It’s incredible to see the kind of conversations that young children can have. Depression and bullying are the main problem, I believe. The problem is that they are mocked, feel alone, and this leads to depression. You know how depression can lead to suicidal thoughts, and you also know that suicide rates are rising among youth.
VERÓNICA BASTOS: Well, I believe that there is an age where one can start talking to them, definitely at three years old, at four years old, at five years old; not necessarily the age, I think, where you should talk to them about this kind of thing. My daughter should grow up naturally. She must understand the differences between our families and those of other moms or dads. However, I believe that they should be taught. Or, why do she have two dads when I have only one?
DELLANOS You have to help them find…
CROSSTALK
BLONDET: It all depends on what you tell them.

ALIX ASPE We have to discuss identity. This made it very difficult for me to see that it was allowed in Florida. It seems like it is regressive. At this age, many children identify with a particular person. It is a word they have heard many times. The fact that the internet has blocked it from being used makes it very disappointing. We were so far ahead of our time as society. My belief is that kids should be exposed to the world as it is. There are many people who identify with homosexuality, lesbians and bisexual people. Non-binary people exist, as well as many other types.
BLONDET:
ASPE: Exactly. It is important to understand that this does not apply only to children who are LGBTQ+.

DELLANOS. I think it’s important that we are compassionate with everyone and love them all. But, the topic of sexuality is an essential part of children’s lives. This identity needs to be established within the family and by the parents, just like with other objects.
BLONDET
DELLANOS: You don´t want them to be told?
BLONDET – No. I want all the details about my children. Mirka, they have to allow them to experience the process. But wait! Your child might say something, but my children may come to talk to me. I’ll be able to learn how to listen. However, there are so many places where the things you experience are very different.
CROSSTALK
BLONDET: Maybe they aren’t communicating and that can lead to worsening of things.
BASTOS – You must call them as they are. I find it absolutely discriminatory to say ´no´ to the word gay.
CROSSTALK
BASTOS: This is the problem. This is a terrible thing to be able to tell our kids at a young age.
