Ted Cruz Gets Last Laugh on Jake Tapper With an Unwitting Assist From Maskless Joe Biden – Opinion

We reported last week about the media-driven “controversy” surrounding the fact that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) attended funeral services Friday at the Washington National Cathedral for the late Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) without wearing a mask.

To quickly recap, reporter Kait Walsh, who works for WPRI 12 in Rhode Island, was watching the event via a live feed and made sure to point out Cruz’s maskless status in a tweet report.

“Interesting to see who is in attendance at Bob Dole’s funeral,” she wrote. “Among those I spotted, Labor Sec Marty Walsh and NBC’s Savannah Guthrie who is sitting next to Tom Hanks. Oh, and Ted Cruz…not wearing a mask.”

Even though it was pointed out by several others that there is no longer a mask mandate in Washington, D.C., that did not stop The Usual Suspects on the left and in the media from doing their thing, including CNN’s Jake Tapper, a self-styled Principled Journalist™ who proceeded to ask Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) – who had been sitting next to Cruz at the services – if she felt uncomfortable as a breast cancer survivor sitting next to Cruz at the ceremony.

Klobuchar did not respond to the offer, however, several Twitter users, including ex-CNN producer Steve Krakauer, were quick with their comments point out that Tapper – as per the CNN norm – was also maskless while sitting next to Klobuchar who herself was maskless during the interview.

As it turns out, though, not only did Tapper’s masklessness during the segment sort of undercut the very (biased) argument he was trying to make, but Cruz got the last laugh in a tweet posted earlier today that included a picture of Klobuchar leaning into President Joe Biden, the latter of who was … not wearing a mask, because Biden’s rules, of course, do not apply to Biden much like CNN’s rules don’t apply to CNN.

“Hey ⁦@jaketapper⁩ — are you going to ask ⁦@JoeBiden why he was, as you put it, ‘recklessly endangering’ Amy’s life?” Cruz asked Tapper. “And will you be wearing a mask when you ask it?”

Take a look at the image below.

The photo I found was an image from Getty taken approximately a month before. It contained the caption “The following caption is attached to the photograph:

As of this writing, Tapper has yet to respond to Cruz’s jibe because of course, he hasn’t.

But the question isn’t over. Will Tapper call out Joe Biden for his and his administration’s continued flouting of his own mask rules? Enquiring minds want to know, but we won’t hold our collective breath on that one, because Biden repeatedly breaking his own rules does not fit into the mask theater narratives that the clowns at CNN want to keep pushing.
