Here at the sports desk located somewhere beneath the decks of the Good Pirate Ship RedState, we’ve been keeping tabs of the assorted and occasionally borderline sordid action on the playing field(s), be they of the grass, hardwood, or frozen water variety. Let’s dig in, shall we?
- Antonio Brown, a former wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was responsible for some of the most strange moments of day. During his team’s game against the New York Jets, eventually won by Tampa Bay 24-20, Brown grew sufficiently irate over something to take his uniform off, throw parts of it into the crowd, run across part of the field, and eventually disappear into the player’s tunnel, never to be seen again. All jokes aside, it’s impossible not to believe Brown has serious mental health issues and needs professional help, which hopefully he will receive ASAP.
- We are proud of the Cincinnati Bengals who have transformed from the lowest team in the league into division champions in only two years. The Cincinnati Bengals won the division title today by beating the Kansas City Chiefs.
- It is wrong to think that the Los Angeles Rams are winning because Matthew Stafford has been absent? Today, he had another multi-interception game, with one returning for a pick-6, but the Rams defeated the Baltimore Ravens.
- All teams that are playing the Chicago Bulls should not allow DeMar DeRozan to take the final shot, according to NBA news. Unless you’re the Golden State Warriors and have Klay Thompson as an option to take Your last shot. Can’t wait to see the Splash Brothers reunited on the court sometime this month. Back to DeRozan:His story is the kind of perseverance that one wishes we’d hear more often of in sports.
- This Saturday, the NHL Winter Classic took place at Target Field in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Wild was defeated 6-4 by the St. Louis Blues. The temperature at game time was a balmy -5.7°. Blues players were well prepared for the elements.

And finally … if you know, you know. If you don’t, sorry ’bout that.
