Special Prosecutor’s Report Rips Apart Kim Foxx for False Statements in Smollett Case – Opinion

We were able to see a jury cut through the nonsense, and found Jussie Mollett guilty of his hoax attack case.

But that’s not the end of the story. There’s the whole question about what Kim Foxx, the Soros-aided prosecutor, did in the case. There were all kinds of questions about her stopping the prosecution of Smollett’s original case and that’s why a special prosecutor had to be called in to continue the case. That special prosecutor, Dan Webb, was also looking into Foxx’s actions. Now that the criminal case with Smollett is over, the report on Foxx’s actions has also been released.

The report concludes that Kim Foxx and other prosecutors in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office made false and misleading statements to the public and that there were “substantial abuses of discretion and operational failures” by her office.

An investigation revealed that Foxx had made false statements about the case. Among those, were her op-ed that there were issues that made the case uncertain when the case was “airtight.” She also claimed that the dismissal of the charges was similar to the resolution of other cases, which the report also found wasn’t the case.

The report also says that Foxx lied to the public about cutting off communication with Jussie Smollett’s sister — that she was still in communication with her. According to the report, she had text messages and phone calls with Smollett’s sister, Jurnee Smollett, after declaring publicly that she had stopped speaking to her. Among the conversations, his sister asked if the alleged attackers were “White, right?” and Foxx told her they were not. Foxx also allegedly told Jurnee, “Your brother should be fine as long as he stays consistent,” the report says. Foxx refutes this statement. Foxx also made misleading statements about her intention to recuse herself from the matter, according to the report. Reports stated that Foxx made contradictory statements about her intention to withdraw from the Smollett trial.

Webb said that while they did not “develop evidence that would support any criminal charges,” they found breaches of “obligations of honesty and transparency by making false and/or misleading statements to the public regarding nature and reasons dismissal.” Therefore he was referring Foxx and her attorney to the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) for ethics violations.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office issued the following statement in response to the release of the report.

“The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (CCSAO) remains committed to honesty and transparency. We have the same response as when the Office of the Special Prosecutor issued their August 2020 press release. Though State’s Attorney Kim Foxx was not involved with the initial disposition of the Smollett case, she and the CCSAO remain steadfast that the office acted within its broad prosecutorial discretion.

“We respectfully disagree with the OSP’s findings of abuse of prosecutorial discretion. A prosecutor’s discretion is as broad as any in the law, and differences of opinion as to how a case was handled do not signify an abuse of discretion. Finally, it is important to emphasize that the OSP did not find any criminal activity or undue influence on the part of the State’s Attorney or the CCSAO.”

Kim Foxx may be in serious trouble if this Commission doesn’t believe the lies are true. But I’ll reserve on anything connected to Chicago/Illinois and potential Democratic influence until there’s an actual finding. However, at this point, they might figure that it’s better to cut her loose, as much as she has been damaged by this case.
