Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) spoke at a major GOP fundraising event on Saturday, during the “Victory Dinner” at the Republican Party of Florida’s Sunshine Summit.
At the event, Rubio did not mince words, calling the people controlling the Democratic Party “Marxist crazies and laptop liberals.”
“As long as the country is in the hands of Marxist crazies and laptop liberals that work at home in their pajamas, as long as the Democratic Party is controlled by them the only thing they can produce are incompetent leaders that will lead us into crisis after crisis.”
The senator hinted at Republicans becoming the party of the working class and Democrats the party of elites, as he tried drawing a contrast between the priorities of “working people” versus “a very small but powerful group of people” in charge.
He noted the Democratic Patry’s agenda was “taken over by 2 or 3% of the country,” as he called for a “new American majority.”
As RedState’s Nick Arama reported, all signs point to a red wave in November, but nothing should be taken for granted.
I had written earlier this week that Hispanic voters are seeing a red tide in November. As they called out Democrats, Democrats were giving them concessions to minorities.
Rubio continued:
“The Democratic party today is controlled by highly educated, affluent liberals, and a bunch of Marxist misfits.”
As expected, Rubio’s and other Republican campaigns have been speaking to voters about inflation and other economic concerns, which could secure their re-election bid.
According to Business Insider, Rubio “is most likely to face off against Democratic Rep. Val Demings, a former law enforcement officer and police chief whose district includes Orlando.”
Rubio has previously called Demings “Pelosi’s puppet.”Val Demings.

Rubio stressed that he supported law enforcement and did not wish to reduce funding of the police. This is especially important in a period when there are high levels of crime.
Rubio released another proposal following the Dobbs decision, aimed at helping families. According to the statement on Rubio’s website, the key provisions, in part, state:
“Enable paid parental leave. The legislation includes Rubio’s New Parents Act, a bill that would allow new and newly-adoptive parents to pull forward up to three months of their Social Security benefits to finance paid parental leave. Stay-at-home parents with a sufficient earnings history would also be able to take the funding option and receive resources.”
RealClear Politics shows that Rubio is nine points ahead of Demings. To secure the Senate majority, the GOP must keep the Florida Senate race.
