Sen. Kennedy Cuts to the Quick About Biden’s Handling of Putin and His Ukraine Invasion – Opinion

No one can tell it like it is quite like Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy, and the quippiest of the Republican politicians had some very cutting remarks about President Joe Biden’s handling of the Ukraine invasion.

Wednesday, the good Senator appeared on “Hannity” to comment on the address Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made to the U.S. Congress. Kennedy was given the chance to hit Biden where it hurt the most: his title as world leader.

“First, I think it’s clear that the leader of the free world is President Zelensky,” said Kennedy.

He added that he and the Ukrainian people are “tough as a boot” and that America needs to have their backs during this engagement with Russia. Kennedy did give credit to the west nations for their harsh sanctions on Putin. Kennedy acknowledged that Biden had done this right. But then, the Senator went all in.

“The rest of President Biden’s economic response to the invasion, and military response to the invasion, in my judgment, has been a wimp fest,” Kennedy said.

“Let’s take it first militarily,” he continued. “President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people are holding their own on the ground. They require air cover. Today President Zelensky said, ‘Can you please help me get planes, can you please help me get surface-to-air missiles? I’m not asking for American planes or pilots or troops. Help me with your allies.”

“President Biden’s response is the same as it always is,” Kennedy said. “I’ll get back to you in three to five business days, and he never gets back.”

Kennedy also described Putin as a person who is still living at home with their parents. Kennedy said that to punish Putin properly, they must stop feeding him money. That means that they will have to cease buying his oil and gasoline, which many European allies won’t do. Kennedy has the solution, and it’s the same solution that would solve a lot of our problems here in the states as well.

“A lot of his allies say we have to buy his oil and gas,” said Kennedy. “Where are we going to get it? The obvious answer to this question is America, but there’s a problem. The woker darlings and the Democratic Party will not allow President Biden to adopt an all-of-the-above energy policy which includes oil and gas, and the president just doesn’t seem to have the courage to stand up to him.”

Kennedy was correct. Biden’s administration, rather than lifting the restrictions that prevent drilling from being resumed in the United States, is instead buying energy from its enemies. RedState reported on Thursday that Biden has reached a new deal with Iran. This deal is worse than the one former President Donald Trump negotiated. The deal would give Russia half a million dollars, and billions more will be available to Russia later.

Biden is actively endangering the west by making deals that would lead to the enrichment and empowerment of the very people we’re struggling against. Kennedy is correct. This is wimpy, but it’s also incredibly dangerous.
