Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that the Atlanta Hawks are preparing to trade forward Danilo Galinari to the San Antonio Spurs along with three first-round picks, for Dejounte.
Sources tell ESPN that the Atlanta Hawks will trade Danilo Gallinari, multiple first-round picks and Dejounte Murphy for All-Star guard Dejounte.

Murray is an all-around star in the NBA. Now, he will share the backcourt with one of the best young stars in the league — Trae Young — along with Clint Capela, Kevin Huerter, Bogdon Bogdanovic, and De’Andre Hunter. The Hawks gave a haul of draft picks to the Spurs; however, as it seems now, very few players that enter the NBA draft will have Murray’s ceiling. Although it was a haul of picks, the Hawks believe that Murray’s acquisition will help lead to their goal of winning an NBA Championship.
Spurs needed to rebuild the team so they traded their top asset and got three picks in the first round and Gallinari as a veteran. As they rebuild, it’s unlikely the Spurs will retain Gallinari. Gallinari could begin the season alongside the team but will most likely be sold or bought out.
The Spurs are going to play long games and rebuild their team after the success of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. The Spurs will continue to have Gregg Popovich as their coach.
Woj stated that Gregg Popovich should return to coaching the San Antonio Spurs for next season.

In their quest to find a defense guard, the Hawks succeeded. They also acquired an all-around player. Murray was averaging 21.1 points per season and averaged 9.2 assists, 8.3 rebounding, and 2.0 steals. All of these were Murray’s career-highs. Young and Murray are yet to decide who will manage the offense. Young and Murray both averaged 9.7 assists in the last season.
Adrian Wojnarowski claims that John Collins could be traded by the Hawks. If the Hawks have to, they will probably look for depth.
Woj says the Atlanta Hawks are “not done dealing yet”

Young, at 23-years-old, is Murray, 25-years old. Both players still have plenty to go for a championship run. In addition to the Hawks’ starting five, they also have firepower off the bench, led by Bogdon Bogdanovic. They gave up many draft picks on Murray, as they were betting that the Young and Murray backcourts will work out. The Hawks may not have given up on trading as they are interested in Phoenix Suns centre DeandreAyton. They will most likely trade Ayton for center Clint Capela, along with a few draft selections.
As things stand, the Hawks have clearly won the short-term deal, replacing Gallinari with Murray. The Hawks have moved up to fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, thanks to this trade.
