Many people believed they would swiftly capture the capital of Ukraine and then subjugate it after the Russians invaded Ukraine. That hasn’t come to pass yet because the Russians have shown what paper tigers they are. It’s hard to imagine why people feared them for so long, when it seems like their military is so inept on so many levels.
The biggest question has been “Why was the convoy, which is supposed to be 40 miles long, halted while trying to advance on Kyiv?” Moreover, who thinks it’s a wise thing to have a big convoy all clumped together, in basically the same place, for days? You invite attack. The attack has already begun.

John Kirby from the Pentagon said that today, Ukrainians struck convoy vehicles leading to it and caused it to come to an abrupt halt.

Some reports claimed that the convoy also was stalled because of Russian soldiers, who slowed it down themselves by making holes in gas tanks. Additionally, there were logistical problems and fuel shortages.
Although they are still 15km from Kyiv now, the Russians are closer. away. That’s concerning.
Fortunate progress has been made by the front of the long-stalled Russian military convoy north of Kyiv, which moved from approximately 20 kilometers outside of the city centre to about 15km away. That’s a new development.

But it’s still not going well for the Russians. Incredible drone footage captured a large group of Russian tanks facing Ukrainian artillery at Brovary, northeastern Kyiv. The tanks were on the main road, all bunched up in a row together, and that wasn’t exactly brilliant military tactics. The rest of the tanks backed away and defeated it.

The voice is one of the people caught in the ambush saying there were a “lot of losses.”

Rob Lee, a senior fellow at the Philadelphia-based Foreign Policy Research Institute think tank, commenting on the drone footage on Twitter, said: “According to the audio, the regimental commander was killed. It appears it was a mix of Ukrainian artillery and tank strikes on the column.”
“Very poor tactics displayed by this Russian armored force so close to Kyiv. They’re well within range of Ukrainian artillery in Kyiv, they’re on an obvious avenue of approach, and they still decided to bunch up like this, leaving them more vulnerable to indirect fire,” Lee noted.
According to The Telegraph, the commander allegedly murdered, Colonel Andrei Zakharov had received previous decorations from Putin. Russia has not confirmed Zakharov’s death.
Two generals have reportedly been killed, including the very important Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, the first deputy commander of Russia’s 41st army, who was killed near Kharkiv on Monday.
U.S. estimates that some 5,000 to 6,000 Russian troops have been killed thus far are staggering for only two weeks worth of fighting.
NEW: @CBSDavidMartinAccording to a U.S. official, the Russians suffered losses of between 5,000-6,000 deaths in the initial 2 weeks. Normal battlefield math presumes three times as many people were wounded as those killed. This puts the number injured at approximately 15,000-18,000.

Many thousands of Ukrainians were also killed by the Russians. They have also attacked a Mariupol maternity hospital, where some are now talking about war crimes. Russia claimed that the hospital was used to support military operations, but there is no evidence.
At this point, Russian credibility doesn’t count for much, when you have people like Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claiming that they didn’t attack Ukraine.
Russia seems to be digging deeper into the ground.
