RedState reported earlier on how New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has launched a campaign seeking to capitalize on the Democrat/media-driven fauxtrage over Florida’s new “Parental Rights in Education” law, which was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, R. (March 28th).
The law, which critics have wrongly dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” law, prohibits age-inappropriate instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity topics in grades K-3 and enshrines parental rights when it comes to discussions of such sensitive subject matters with children.
Adams’ response to the ginned-up hysteria over the issue was to hold an event Monday where he encouraged Floridians who he assumed are upset with DeSantis to move to New York City where you can “say whatever you want” according to flyers that were made up to post in select Florida cities:

Adams insisted on masks being mandatory for toddlers, and Adams was confronted by a mother. The mayor was able to let the mother speak but he seemed agitated.

Ironically, less than an hour after the woman – a city employee – made her voice known at a city event that promoted free speech, she was fired:
Daniela Jampel, who served as an assistant corporation counsel, learned she was canned less than an hour after she confronted a caught-off-guard and apparently annoyed Adams over when he would “unmask our toddlers.”
Jampel had publicly challenged the mayor at an unrelated event on LGBTQ issues — as Adams stood in front of a podium banner that read, “Come to the city where you can say whatever you want.’’
Her former employers at the city Law Department said the decision was allegedly made well “before” the Adams event, but we won’t know for sure until after the inevitable lawsuits are filed.
It was Adams’ attack on Florida as well as the city’s firing of the woman that prompted DeSantis to fire back at the newly-minted mayor during a presser, marveling over the fact that Adams actually spent tax dollars on the campaign and correctly pointing out that it was New York City and not Florida where people go to get muzzled and indoctrinated not Florida:

Also, and as DeSantis may have mentioned (I haven’t seen the full presser), New Yorkers actually fled the state in droves and headed directly to Florida during the course of the coronavirus pandemic under the leadership of NY’s disgraced former Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the city’s Mayor Bill de Blasio, which is probably the real reason for New York City’s push to beg people to come back. Adams might not want to be open about it.
In any event, Adams’ campaign will probably end up being about as successful as Kamala Harris’ disastrous 2020 run for president. You might already know that once an outsider goes full Florida, they don’t want to return.
