Ricky Gervais Reveals What Joke He Would Have Told About Jada Smith on Oscar Night – Opinion

It was obvious that this would happen. It’s my hope that this will be the beginning of an amusing laugh-fest. Smith was both applauded as well as chastised by his obvious overreaction.

The repercussions of this are still in the beginning.

There has been a small but growing movement of comics for a couple of years now starting to push back on the notion that there are things that can’t be said because people’s feelings get hurt. RedState has previously featured this topic by me and other authors. Last year, I created Comics like Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle. They are Saving America.

Chris Rock is one of the most successful and respected comics of the last 25 years and he told a mild joke last night about Will Smith’s wife, Jada. This joke was mildly offensive because Rock could, and would, have admitted that Jada had infidelity in their marriage.

So if anyone thinks that Chris Rock’s peers are going to sit by and allow one of their own to be attacked over a joke, you are going to watch a magnificent display of how good comics can dissect you in a heartbeat. I’m not talking just about big names either — you are going to have up-and-comers, people who are somewhat known, all dive in on how Smith totally overreacted to this joke.

Will Smith’s verbal arse-kicking is unavoidable and he is going to get every bit.

While I am aware that this is a problem for some, it’s something that I support as a Breitbart Doctrine follower. “politics is downstream from culture,”It is worth a discussion, I believe. Especially when a comic of Gervais’ stature chimes in.

Gervais now has the opportunity to share his thoughts on the event and the cruel joke that he might have made instead.

“I’ll get it out of the way. Will Smith stuff isn’t mine. It was the first time that I had been trended and it wasn’t my fault. I don’t know what it has to do with me. People were going ‘What would have happened if Ricky Gervais had been [hosting]?’,” Gervais said during a show in London today.

“Well, nothing as I would not have made a joke about his wife’s hair. I would have made a joke about her boyfriend.”

After Life actor August Alsina (29-year-old US singing artist), was Jada’s reference to Alsina. Jada and Smith had an extensive relationship for years, with whom Jada married in 2015.

This was exactly what I meant by my previous post. It is the reason why comics started to take a stance against the actor who won an Oscar. Jada Smith and Will have discussed and done far more than is necessary to make it clear that they are openly discussing the stuff. This is further proof in my mind to answer the question of Brandon’s video above — that this was not a fake event, but that Will Smith acted irrationally and is going to suffer humiliation at the hands of professional and amateur comics for the rest of his life and beyond.

Ricky Gervais gives us a single insight into the true nature of Hollywood’s crazy behavior and perceptions. Gervais made this speech at the Golden Globes in 2002. The last act of Gervais’ opening act completely destroyed Hollywood and detachment to reality. So it is no surprise that he focused on the one really odd thing about Will and Jadas’ relationship (being in an open marriage), which puts into perspective Will Smith’s thin-skinned reaction to a joke about hair.

This dude is broken.

Ricky now has the door open for ridicule, I am looking forward to seeing what other lunacy will come in the days and weeks ahead.
