Here is another race that wasn’t even close. New York Republicans made their choice, and it wasn’t Andrew Guiliani.

The Associated Press projects that Rep. Lee Zeldin has won New York State’s Republican gubernatorial nomination.
Zeldin, a four-term lawmaker who represents New York’s 1st Congressional District, which covers the eastern half of Long Island, topped a field that also included Rob Astorino, the former Westchester County executive and 2014 GOP gubernatorial nominee; Andrew Giuliani, who served in former President Donald Trump’s administration and is the son of former New York City mayor and former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani; and Harry Wilson, a businessman, investor and restructuring expert who poured millions of his own money into his gubernatorial bid.
Zeldin will face off against Democratic Governor in November. Kathy Hochul, the state’s former lieutenant governor who was sworn in last August as New York’s first female governor, after three-term Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace amid multiple scandals.
Andrew Cuomo has been as disastrous as Governor Kathy Hochul. Like California Governor Gavin Newsom she is a COVID zealot and holds on to the emergency powers that were given to him during the COVID epidemic so that her power can be seized by New Yorkers to impose vaccine restrictions or mask mandates. Recent polls show that 54% believe Hochul is not doing an adequate job. Zeldin already stated that he doesn’t support vaccine or mask mandates. If elected governor, he will remove the mandates from New York and give up emergency power.
George Pataki was the last Republican governor to be elected in New York State 20 years ago. Zeldin to be the first one to take down this wall?
