‘Recovering Addicts’: Behar Lashes Out at her Former Trump Admin Co-Hosts

It appears as though the likes of former Trump administration officials Alyssa Farah Griffin and Stephanie Grisham sold out their “conservative” principles for The View’s blessing for nothing (not like it was worth anything to begin with). During Friday’s edition of the ABC show, co-host Joy Behar lashed out at them, calling them “recovering addicts” and complaining about them coming on the show; essentially exposing how the liberal cast doesn’t even want mediocre opposition on the program.

“So, I do think he needs to be commended for his actions that day,” self-proclaimed Republicans and staunch Never Trumper Ana Navarro said of former Vice President Mike Pence’s actions on January 6. “That does not erase four years of complicity.”

Behar was shocked by that comment. “Exactly. These people who are now all, like, recovering addicts – recovering addicts in the Trump world that come on, even on this show. They come on this show, they go on other shows and they’re turning on Trump,”She moaned.

It’s obvious who she’s talking about as Griffin and Grisham are part of the rotation for the “conservative” seat and are the only ones who used to work in the Trump administration. Griffin was even on the program several days before the start of the week. Both Griffin and Williams seem to be okay with being punks for liberal cast members.

Behar went on demanding to know where those women were during some of Trump’s more controversial moments (Click “expand”):

BEHAR. Where was he all the time talking about pulling women’s nether regions apart? John McCain, a war hero was made fun of. His criticism of soldiers for being cowards.

Whoopi Goldbergg: The gold-star families of yes.

BEHAR: Families with gold stars

SUNNY HOOSTIN: No.

BEHAR: Come on. I mean, where was Mike Pence? When Trump called Zelenskyy and asked him to intervene in the election, were you there?

HOSTIN: Yes.

BEHAR: Were you there for the impeachment? He was absent.

Seemingly calling out Griffin directly, Navarro chimed in by noting “They’re now all pro-Ukraine with little flags of Ukraine on their Twitter profile after they allowed the quid pro quo.” As of Navarro’s comment, Griffin did have a Ukrainian flag on her Twitter profileGrisham didn’t.

“I mean, it’s disgraceful. They’re all right there. Don’t try to fool us,”Behar concluded the matter.

After Meghan McCain had left, the show struggled to find a conservative member to the panel. The desire for a conservative seemed to be a corporate decision because during an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning AmericaLast month Sara Haines, liberal cohost and host of Sara Haines’s Liberal Show said that she wished Hillary Clinton would be cast as the next member.

On Tuesday, seemingly appeasing the liberal cast members, Griffin let her “conservative” mask slip as she eagerly asked “who are the Dems going to run? Griffin’s “conservative” mask was ripped off Tuesday as she eagerly asked, “Who are the Dems going to run?” we could bring?”  Meanwhile, she’s repeatedly asserted “I’m a conservative. I’m a Republican.”

Griffin is often accused of selling to her friends and family in order to gain favor with those on the right. And former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway called her out back in May: “Alyssa, if you’re saying that somehow you think we’re supposed to think that you’ve seen the light and not just see your name in lights, that’s not fair.”

Griffin and Grisham both want the approval of The View, but they’ll get it.
