Monday Nights ReidOut on MSNBC, host Joy Reid used the last segment of her prime-time show to exploit the war in Ukraine in order to play racial politics. Reid claimed that the reason the United States and the rest of the world care so much about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is because their population is “white and largely Christian.”
Reid started off by stating the obvious that “what we’re seeing in Ukraine is absolutely the worst humanitarian crisis that Europe has seen in decades.” Of course with Reid there is always a catch: “but we haven’t witnessed the same type of solidarity for the Yeminies as we do for the Ukrainians” Reid whined.
The racially divisive host complained that “we don’t see historic sanctions, or global campaigns, corporations like Airbnb and Netflix taking a stand” against civil rights abuses in Yemen or other third world countries.
Reid continued to spread her racial grievances.
Reporters have used very interesting comparisons to show how Ukrainians feel about western media.
Reid claims that the only reason the world pays attention to Ukraine’s human suffering is because it takes place in Europe. She wondered “if this was happening anywhere else would we see the same outpouring of support and compassion?”
Reid claimed “we don’t need to ask ourselves if the international response will be the same if Russia unleashed their horror on a country that wasn’t white and largely Christian” referring to Ukraine. Her theory was based on Russia’s attack against Syria.
She ended her deranged rant preaching that western media needs to do a lot of soul searching about why “some wars and lives seem to matter more than others” and “why some refugees get the welcome mat while others get the wall.”
Joy Reid believes that racism and race are central to everything. Russia has been involved in a terrible war, causing untold suffering and death.

Eastern, 7:58:17JOY REID: Now what we’re seeing in Ukraine is absolutely the worst humanitarian crisis that Europe has seen in decades, but we haven’t witnessed the same type of solidarity for the Yeminies as we do for the Ukrainians. We do not see global campaigns or historic sanctions being applied to Ukraine. We shouldn’t be less concerned about Ukraine. It’s far from true. This is why we must also take care of refugees, as well as those who are facing war or occupation in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

REID: Civilized. We can all admit it: the whole world is watching this because it is taking place in Europe. Were these events happening elsewhere, would there be the same support? Well, we don’t need to ask ourselves if the international response will be the same if Russia unleashed their horror on a country that wasn’t white and largely Christian. Russia did it in Syria. We can learn from this moment in media. It’s not a problem to point out the industry. It is important to reflect on why wars and peoples seem more important than other things in the west media. It is also why certain refugees receive the blanket and some get the wall. Tonight’s ReidOut is a reminder of this.
