There are many reasons leftists can be mad about Florida Governor. This is Ron DeSantis’s dumbest comment. High-profile, black progressive tap-dancers started their routines and made false allegations of racism after the governor signed the Stop WOKE Act as well as a bill stripping Disney from its special status.
This episode was about DeSantis having the nerve to invite black people onto his stage. For some reason, the fact that black children were present seemed particularly concerning. MSNBC’s resident tap-dancing race-baiter, Joy Reid, posted her faux outrage on Twitter, accusing the governor of “child abuse,” because of course she did. She posted this tweet:
The abuse of Black boys in this way is child abuse. It would be fascinating to know the background of these children and how they ended up at DeSantis events. Due to the anti-Black DeSantis, this is a sickening way of using Black children.

Florida state Senator Shevrin Jones said DeSantis having young black men at the event was somehow “indoctrination.” He wrote:
This is what @GovRonDeSantis did: These young Black men held up signs about something that they don’t know.

Cliff Albright, co-founder of Black Voters Matter, also weighed in, agreeing with Reid’s asinine tweet:
I’ll bet there are some pissed Black parents in FL who had NO idea their kids were being used for this propaganda. Joy states in this thread that hopefully journalists will tell their stories.
BTW, @BlackVotersMtr is suing DeSantis for his racist maps, & WE WILL WIN (again)!

The complaints made by these people were completely nonsense. Reid, an activist pretending to be a journalist never bothered to research any background information on the event and the performers. However, Christina Pushaw, DeSantis’ press secretary set the record straight:
This event was my first time working there and I helped set it up. My colleague talked to all the kids beforehand & told them what the issue was & what bills @GovRonDeSantis was signing. There were hundreds at this event. The 50 people who did end up standing on the podium chose their own positions.

Of course, Pushaw’s tweet isn’t going to change anything for these people because the truth is the last thing they care about. Reid and her associates are focused on pushing a narrative rather than getting to the truth. For them, this was just another opportunity to call someone racist and put on a social media show for their beloved white progressives — nothing more, nothing less. We can only imagine what other we would expect.
