PolitiFact: It’s ‘Mostly False’ To State the Truth About States with No Abortion Limits

PolitiFact is known for its annoying and irritating habit of marking pro-life groups “Mostly False” when they say something that is True. Oregon, Vermont, New Mexico, and New Mexico, are all blue states. They have no abortion prohibitions. It’s “Mostly False”, to claim that you can have an abortion for whatever reason at any moment. Focus on the Family’s advertisement was judged “Mostly False.”

New Mexico’s Lawmakers Have Gone Too Far! Did you know that abortion is available all nine months of pregnancy in New Mexico – even up until the moment before birth and for any reason? You can be a Voice for Life and Sign the Declaration for Life!

You ask, how is this “False”? PolitiFact’s Tom Kertscher says it is because late-term abortions tend to be rare.

Focus on the Family advertised that abortion is available in all nine months in Alaska, Colorado and New Jersey. New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon, and Vermont.

In these six states there are laws. Abortion isn’t specifically forbidden at any stage in pregnancy.

Late-term abortions, however, are very rare Most often, it is for emergency medical reasons. In the United States, less than 1 percent of abortions occur after 21 weeks. They are almost as common in states that have no abortion time ban.

Experts disagree with the advertisements that suggest abortions are performed near term.

While the statement has some truth, it overlooks important facts that might give a completely different impression. It is rated “A” It is mostly false.

It doesn’t mean it’s false, but that doesn’t change the fact they care. The protesters nitpick, claiming the rarest late-term abortions would “give a different impression.” They don’t verify facts. Instead, they are examining their “impressions.”

Kertscher wrote the headline for his article: “Anti-abortion group exaggeratesHow states regulate abortions at the end of pregnancy

PolitiFact claimed three months back that the claim was “False”, not “Mostly” — in order to be truthful about Colorado’s zero-prohibitions laws.

PolitiFact continues to ignore pro-abortion organizations, such as this Facebook advertisement by NARAL Pro-Choice America.

The Supreme Court’s anti-choice supermajority just decimated Roe v. Wade, ending Americans’ Constitutional right to abort. 8 out of 10 Americans agree with the right for abortion and we won’t stop fighting for our reproductive freedom.

What is the Constitution’s position on abortion? Do 80 percent really support it or is that exaggeration? PolitiFact doesn’t care. Because they are liberals.
