Parents, Kids Let Loudoun County Know They’re Done With Masks in No Uncertain Terms – Opinion

Some schools have resisted the Virginia Governor. Glenn Youngkin’s executive order allowing parents to opt-out of mask mandates.

Loudoun County was one of seven districts that filed a suit challenging the executive orders. A judge issued temporary restraining orders against the executive orders for the time. Parents in Loudon County filed a suit against Youngkin’s district. Several Democrats have joined in a bill to end the mask mandates, so that’s another avenue people are pursuing to end this.

As we reported on Tuesday, a leaked email revealed the district’s plan to get warrants against unmasked students. John Ziegler (the Superintendent) had claimed previously that the district was not seeking to sue students.

However, parents and children told the district on Tuesday that they were fed up.

It was very obvious. Two boy scouts dressed in uniform led the children and served them affidavits to the school board officers during the meeting. They asked for an end to the mandate of the mask.

Jeff Morse was the chair of the school board and tried to avoid having his papers served by calling for a recess. However, the school board acknowledged receiving the paperwork.

Megan Rafalski is a parent to a Loudoun County Public Schools student. She said 65 concerned parents signed the affidavits.

“We’re parents who want to be parents and look after our children,” Rafalski told Fox News Digital. “We’ve tried to talk to them, they will not listen, so it’s essentially a list of demands, a list of grievances.” [….]

The affidavit “demands that the Superintendent and the LCPS remove mask mandates since the science shows that these are not necessary for the protection of children and since the Schools do not comply with the other CDC Guidelines as claimed.”

Additionally, it calls upon the board not to teach critical race theory at schools. It recommends that bathrooms be established for both males and females and employees.

Loudoun County is trying to stem the tide. Blue states, such as Connecticut and Delaware, are abandoning their mask mandates. However, schools continue to insist on them. Even so, they’re still trying to punish kids in the process which shows how politicized and vicious this all has become. They don’t have the interests of the kids as their priority. They wouldn’t act like this if they could. Politics is all they care about. They can keep trying to fight it, but they’re fighting a losing battle.
