It’s Primary Day in Ohio and Indiana, and voters are heading to the polls to select their nominees for the U.S. House and Senate — and in Ohio, for Governor.
Ohio’s incumbent Governor Mike Dewine is being challenged by former Congressman Jim Renacci, former State Rep. Ron Hood, and Joe Blystone, a farmer and businessman. Former Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley, and Nan Whaley (former Dayton Mayor) are vying to be the nominee.
The GOP Senate primary will most likely draw all attention to the fact that President Donald Trump has endorsed J.D. Vance will replace Rob Portman. Vance will be challenged by Josh Mandel (former State Treasurer), Matt Dolan (former State Senator), and other Republicans. The Democratic candidates for Congress are Traci Johnson, Morgan Harper (an attorney), and Tim Ryan (a former State Treasurer).
In Indiana, there’s a bit less suspense, as incumbent Republican Senator Todd Young is running unopposed. Thomas McDermott Jr., a Democrat, is running unopposed. Although the outcome of the congressional primaries is uncertain, this site will keep you informed about the results.
