Democrat politicians can’t seem to understand the concept of children being left alone. Whether through some misguided personal beliefs, adherence to the demands of teacher’s unions, or both, elected officials on the left want to tighten the grip around your children as much as possible. You can see that they impose mask requirements on children as well as lifting mandates for all others.
The New York Post reports that Eric Adams, New York’s Mayor of New York found more than 100 parents who had protested the school-based masking of children at schools.
“[The mandate]It is not following scientific principles. This makes a mockery out of science. This is playing us for fools,’’ said rally-goer Daniela Jampel, a 38-year-old mother of three, including a 4-year-old in public pre-K, from Washington Heights.
“New York state recognizes the science. Everywhere else in New York state — 10 miles away in Nassau County, 10 miles away in Westchester County — toddlers are allowed to take off their masks along with their older brothers and sisters,’’ she said.
But “our mayor and our new health commissioner tell us it’s not safe for toddlers to take off their masks,” Jampel told The Post at the rally.
It is counterintuitive, as the COVID-19 pandemic affects children least. This has been shown to be not only harmful, but also detrimental. Not only do the masks not work as has now been admitted by even left-leaning “medical experts,” but children have been the least at-risk group for the virus from the beginning. Masking them doesn’t make any sense, and for a time it was common sense not to mask them. This changed when it became clear that reopening schools would be possible.
Adams’ office can’t seem to get its story straight about masking either. According to the New York Post, Adams assures parents that children’s masks will soon be removed. However, his health czar Dr. Ashwin Vasan seems to think kids can be covered up indefinitely.
Confronted by an irate parent earlier this month, Adams assured that the toddler mandate would not be around for long, telling the concerned dad that the children would “be unmasked.”
“I got this. I’ll take care of this,” the mayor said. “They’ll be unmasked.”
The comment seemed to be at odds with statements made last week by Vasan, who said that the mask mandates for children should remain “indefinitely.”
“I think it’s indefinite at this point,” Vasan said Friday. “People who have tried to predict the future in this pandemic have had egg on their face, and I’m not going to do that today.”
Vasan may be taking his facts directly from the wrong source. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), between 0.1 percent and 1.5% of COVID-19 patients need to be admitted in hospital, with 0.01 deaths. Altogether, these are numbers and facts that scream unmasking is not just wise, it’s necessary.
This attempt to exert unnecessary control over children has put Democrats on a crash course with America’s parents, and they’ve been showing up around the nation to make it clear who is in charge when it comes to their children’s lives. It’s something Democrat politicians and their teacher’s unions don’t appreciate much, and there have been attempts to silence or punish parents who defy the will of the institutional left.
Needless to say, it hasn’t worked out for Democrats, who have put parents into a position to become an unofficial political party of their own.

Children have started to wreak havoc on Democrat strongholds. This includes the ousting of Terry McAuliffe, a Virginian, and three San Francisco School Board members. They also put enough fear into Democrat governors in New Jersey, Deleware, and have even begun changing their mask mandates.
Democrats are wise to follow their parents, lest they become jobless like other members of the political party.
