New York Magazine’s writer attempted to make fun of a family with 11 children who were struggling with inflation due to their purchase of 12 gallons milk each week.
Krista Stotler is the mother of a large family. during a CNN interview that “‘A gallon of milk was $1.99. Now it’s $2.79. Buy it 12 gallons a week, times four weeks, that’s a lot of money.’” The Twitter Trends negatively portrayed the family’s purchase of 12 gallons: “A CNN segment analyzing ‘how badly inflation is hitting the middle class’ has some discussing why the family featured purchases 12 gallons of milk per week.” As Mediaite clearly explained concerning the eleven-member family, “each individual is drinking roughly a gallon of milk.” That context didn’t matter to leftist elitists on Twitter who attacked the family for allegedly being excessive. One was New York Magazine writer Jonathan Chait. Chait spewed on Twitter: “12 gallons of milk a week may sound like a lot, but they’ve actually had to cut out their milk baths on alternate days.” [Emphasis added.]
This tweet was well-received, with more than 1,600 comments and just under 500 likes. Other Twitter users criticized Chait for taking a swipe at the Stotlers.
While 12 gallons may seem like a lot of milk per week, the fact is that they had to reduce their milk baths by having them take place on alternate days. https://t.co/3vwwMWjKfR

BlazeTV host Lauren Chen didn’t pull any punches in response: “Do you think it is fair to ridicule a family because they spend so much on groceries for their children’s meals? Do you really want to pursue this?”
Are you really mocking a family for the amount of groceries they buy to feed their adoptive children?
Is this a thing you’ve really chosen to do?

Jeryl Bier, Pluribus Editor countered Chait: “What amount of milk should nine-year olds consume?”
how much milk should 9 children drink?

Colby Hall is also a mediaite writer rebuked Chait: “[T]You are responsible for caring nine children: six of them adopted, one fostered. But you can mock them. Doesn’t at all confirm any stereotypes.”

Kiryas Joel School district, New York Joel Petlin snarked: “This is @jonathanchaitIs it really funny to mock a large family that adopted many children due to their weekly milk intake? Some people are lactose intolerant. He doesn’t understand.”
Is @jonathanchait really mocking a large family who adopted many children because of their weekly milk consumption?
Some people are lactose intolerant.
He’s just intolerant.
