NRSC Chairman Rick Scott Breaks With Mitch McConnell and Aims for the Bleachers With His 11 Point Plan to Rescue America – Opinion

Although the Republicans seem to be in good shape for the House of Representatives win in November 2022 but the Senate situation is even more difficult. A net gain of just one seat would be a boon for the GOP. In reality, four seats are at stake. AZ Democrat Mark Kelly looks extremely vulnerable. NV Catherine Masto also appears very vulnerable. Ralph Warnock should be “Dead Man Walking,” but this is Georgia which, of late, seems stupid even by the low bar set by the “Stupid Party.” On the other hand, Pat Toomey (PA) has retired, and holding that seat could prove challenging…Dr. Oz? B**ch, please.

The US Senate has two camps of opinion on the best way to approach 2022 elections. Mitch McConnell, the Minority Leader, wants to face Joe Biden. Florida Senator Rick Scott is the opposite. He chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee and wants to break with McConnell in order nationalize senatorial elections as Newt Gingrich did for the House races back in 1994.

While I think we can mostly agree that McConnell’s default setting on most things is “do nothing,” he’s not necessarily wrong. It is possible to beat anything with nothing. McConnell undoubtedly remembers the 2006 election when the Democrats gained six seats and gained joint control of the Senate by running on the “I’m not Bush” platform. Running as “not Joey SoftServe” has some attractions. Biden is at Chernobyl radioactivity. Tying Democratic senate candidates with his record will either force them to throw Biden under a bus, losing votes to the Democrat base, or defend the indefensible. Your candidates don’t have to be stellar; they just have to be “not Biden.” On the other hand, this is small-ball and will not bring the gains the GOP really needs. McConnell doesn’t have much room for maneuver if the GOP+1 Senate is comprised of Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

The virtue of a “bold colors” campaign is that it offers the best chance to kick butt. However, this campaign comes with high risk because your candidates will have to protect the agenda from unpopular areas.

To their credit, Rick Scott and his staff are trying to win big and have the guts to put what they are about on paper as his “11 Points Plan to Rescue America.” Listed below are the main items.

  • The pledge of allegiance will be said by our children.
  • The government will not ask Americans to reveal their skin color, race or ethnicity on any future forms.
  • We will no longer tolerate criminal behaviour and soften our approach to crime. Because they are the good guys, we will respect and re-fund the police.
  • We will protect our border and finish the building of the wall. Then, we’ll name it President Donald Trump.
  • We will grow America’s economy, starve Washington’s economy, and stop Socialism.
  • We will end all federal programs that cannot be implemented locally and establish term limits for Congress and federal bureaucrats.
  • We will defend the American Democracy from any attempts to corrupt it and we will stop all left-wing attempts at rigging elections.
  • We will fight for the American Family and defend it at all costs.
  • Unborn babies can be considered babies, while men are still males. We are believers in science.
  • Americans will have the freedom to accept God in all areas of their lives.
  • We are Americans and not globalists.

Politico

Scott envisions the GOP rallying around making sure the government “never” asks citizens their race or ethnicity, shrinking the federal government and requiring that all legislation expire after five years. Scott wants to attack critical race theories, embrace traditional gender politics, and make sure that children stand for the Pledge Of Allegiance at public schools.

“They’ve made all of our Founding Fathers out to be evil racists. They weren’t,” Scott said of Democrats. “It’s wrong that men are playing in women’s sports. It’s what I believe.”

Scott, like others in his party, is criticizing organizations such as the NCAA, which allow transgender women to compete in women’s categories for the Olympics and college-level sports.

Scott recognizes the controversy that Scott’s plan may cause, but he preemptively says that none should be taken seriously.

“This is what people think, by the way,” he said. “If you talk to a normal, non-woke family, this is what they think.”

From my point of view, it was refreshing to see that this was not a rehash of boilerplate campaign language that we’ve seen for 30+ years, though I was disappointed to see the “term limits for Congress” raise its head again because not only do I think it is unwise, it also requires a Constitutional Amendment. Those are quibbles. The plan includes bold suggestions (term-limiting bureaucrats), and tackles the culture war head on. This plan is firm on Critical Race Theory and transgenderism, as well as the sexual grooming of children who are being taught by deranged teachers. The issue of school choice is now a national one. It has a clear “America first focus.” It isn’t all policy. There are some things that can be funny and outlandish, like Trump naming the Mexico border fence for him and accusing Democrats voters of voting robbery.

Is this a simple task? No. There is some hardcore stuff in here that will open GOP candidates to scurrilous attacks from the teachers’ unions and the homosexualist-alphabet lobby. If it succeeds, however, it will create a class with battle experience that is able to fight against the downslide of the United States facilitated by Democrats and the Left.
