NPR Publishes Propaganda Piece Supporting Lia Thomas’ ‘Victories’

National Public Radio, a left-leaning media outlet funded by the public, is enthralled that Lia Thomas, a trans woman, has won the Ivy League swimming competition. It’s so beloved that they will sacrifice journalistic principles in order to ensure it is celebrated by everyone.

Michaela Winberg, a general assignment reporter who covers LGBTQ people and culture for Billy Penn (in Philadelphia), produced a radio feature that NPR posted on their website as a reaction piece to Lia Thomas’ record-setting weekend at the Ivy League’s women’s swimming championships (the transcript for which is here). Winberg never conducted a single interview to discuss the possibility that a woman is being swam against a male swimmer. She also did not include any quotes from people who were opposed to the notion.

“For Lia to be up on the blocks and looking around and all the world talking about her – that’s such a huge burden on her, as well. And I think people have to remember that this young girl is dealing with a lot herself, and have some support there,” Peter Larsen, who’s daughter competed against Thomas in several events, said.

No interviews were conducted with biological females, and there weren’t quotes from any parents about the grief of their children losing to man. Nothing.

This is a situation that lacks any basic moral principles, common sense or even ethics. NPR may have published this story because of it.

The reason that there are no opposition voices is because everyone wants to be accepted. Media and wackos that support this ideology would like to present a narrative in which anyone can indulge in their fantasies and nobody should criticize them. But if you’re going to be so bold about your stance, shouldn’t you be able to take a little heat from the other side?

To me, it seems like you should.

Interviews with biological mothers were not conducted. There weren’t any quotes from fathers who might be angry at their daughters’ loss to a man. Nothing.
