NPR Editor Whines Fox, RNC ‘Contorted’ Democrat Backing of Abortion on Demand

At the top of the NPR home page on Saturday morning was a fact-check piece of sorts by NPR senior political editor Domenico Montanaro headlined “GOP playbook on abortion is to push Democrats on restrictions and contort their words.”

Montanaro tried to make the argument that Fox News attempts to tell Montanaro that Democrats support an unlimited “woman’s right to decide” were misleading. They were dishonest!

NPR surprised to use a video Tweet by Curtis Houck

BRET BAIER: Would you be able to limit abortion as a senator?

RYAN: [Blathers about Roe being “conservative,” the “extreme” is banning abortion after rape and incest]

BAIER: I was asking about the limits on abortion in any stage of life, such as late term or early term.

RYAN: Look, you’ve got to leave it up to the woman…–

BAIER: The answer is no.

RYAN: …you and I– well, you and I sitting here can’t account for all of the different scenarios that a woman, dealing with all the complexities of a pregnancy are going through. What can we do to figure this out together?

Montanaro tried to argue Ryan “wasn’t comfortable — with two men on television talking about the subject — laying out what those [exceptions] might be.”

Ryan was trying to hide the fact that he opposes all limits. However, Ryan’s statement “You have to leave it up for the woman” is a bit like “abortion by demand.”

But Montanaro claimed conservative media “distorted” the comments, as in these headlines from Clay & Buck and the Epoch Times:

Montanaro was then pressed by Fox’s Peter Doocy on Jen Psaki, and received the typical “pscolding”.

DOOCY: His position on abortion has changed over the years. Please check his official position. Do you support abortion restrictions?

PSAKI: Peter, the President has spoken — has talked about his position many times. He believes that a woman should be able to decide what she wants from her body.

DOOCY: But I know that one of the Democrats that he endorsed and — who won their primary this week, Tim Ryan, said yesterday that he does not support any limits on abortion. Do you think that is the President’s current thinking?

PSAKI: President Obama has made many statements.

DOOCY – So, does President Obama support abortion right up to the point of birth?

PSAKI: This has been a topic that the President has discussed many times. Peter. You can also refer to the President’s comments on abortion, and women’s rights to make choices about their bodies with doctors. This is exactly what all of these women would do.

It’s again “a woman’s right to decide” at whatever point she wants. The NPR politico asserts it was misleading for Republican National Committee. Psaki answered “No” to “does it support any limitations.” He said, “Clearly, that wasn’t what was stated.”

Montanaro isn’t going to attempt listing the abortion restrictions Biden supports or those supported by Democrats. The 2020 Democrat Platform:

We think unequivocally,Like the vast majority of Americans, every woman should have access to high-quality, safe, and legal reproductive health services. Democrats will oppose state and federal laws that restrict reproductive rights and health.

NPR is responsible for the “contradicting” statements. His dislike for Fox underlining how the Democrats back abortion-on-demand is a journalist.
