Comedy Central’s Trevor Noah was relieved on the Wednesday edition of the The Daily Show Democrats have apparently learned their lessons by codifying gay-interracial marriage. Noah was not content to leave the matter at that. He also accused Republicans of being against interracial marriage.
Noah started by recalling the Dobbs ruling, “Now, everyone is still shell-shocked by the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe V. Wade, and although this made conservatives happy because they finally made government small enough to fit inside a woman’s vagina, everyone else was pretty furious.”
He also claimed that, “Well, it turns out that the same Supreme Court ruling that struck down Roe V. WadeThis ruling opened up the possibility of future rulings, which might overturn rights. Alright? Alright? Roe V. Wade.”
This is partially true. Griswold The right to privacy is the basis of contraception, however Love Obergefell are equal protection cases. While there is no movement in any legislature to overturn any of those three cases, Noah still declared “Which is why Democrats are trying to learn their lesson and protect those rights before Clarence Thomas gets to them.”
After playing some news clips of the House voting on the bill, Noah added, “Also, it’s even weirder that 157 Republicans voted against this bill. You voted against, so you’re on the record now against interracial marriage. Like look, I know mixed couples have ruined your lives for the past few years, but I think it’s time to let that go.”
These claims are not outrageous and it’s actually quite dishonest. This bill combined gay marriage and interracial marriage. These no votes came for the exact same post held by a Democratic president just ten year ago. And speaking of mixed couples that have “ruined” lives, Clarence Thomas is not going to vote to overturn his own marriage.

TREVOR NOOAH: OK. Let’s kick things off with some big news coming out of Washington, D.C. Now, everyone is still shell-shocked by the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe V. Wade, and although this made conservatives happy because they finally made government small enough to fit inside a woman’s vagina, everyone else was pretty furious.
And people weren’t just angry at the Supreme Court. No, they were pissed at Democrats because they didn’t codify Roe V. Wade. I don’t know about you but, I haven’t said “codified” this much in my entire life. We just say it like it’s normal now, “Codify, did they codify, you didn’t codify, they should’ve–, did you codify your Starbucks order?” I did.
It turns out, the Supreme Court decision that was struck down actually came from the same court. Roe V. WadeThis ruling opened up the possibility of future rulings, which might overturn rights. Alright? Alright? Roe V. Wade. This is why Democrats have decided to take a lesson from Clarence Thomas and try to protect their rights.
…
Also, it’s even weirder that 157 Republicans voted against this bill. You voted against, so you’re on the record now against interracial marriage. Like look, I know mixed couples have ruined your lives for the past few years, but I think it’s time to let that go.
