Democrats convinced all of the media (except Fox News), to a retold (or breathless hearing) on January 6. However, it was almost like watching a summer repeat. Although the morning and night news networks heavily promoted this show, they became comparatively uninterested in the attempt to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Curtis Houck assesses the content and tone. There were almost 40 minutes worth of news stories on Friday morning (first 2 hours). It was referred to as the “Jan. 6 hearings” when in fact they began last July.
CBS reporter NikoleKillion falsely claimed that Capitol cop Brian Sicknick was killed in the attacks. CBS News tweeted that Sicknick died “following two strokes” following the incident.
John Dickerson of CBS incorrectly claimed that this was the first attack on Capitol Hill since 1814. Liberals making War of 1812 analogies fail to recognize that five Puerto Rican terrorists attacked the House of Representatives in 1954. No one was hurt. In 1971, 1983 and 1998, Capitol Hill was bombed. Two Capitol Officers were also killed by an attacker in 1998. They were attacked on Capitol Hill, though there weren’t any mobs.
