NewsBusters Podcast: NPR Disinformation Team, Heal Thyself

Conservative Twitter responded to the report that NPR had created a team for “disinformation,” noting that NPR produces its own “news” which is factually flawed. It is still remarkable that they avoided the Kavanaugh assassination. But they can’t devote so much to stories that resonate deeply with them.

— The July 14 Everything Considered NPR spent 10 minutes, 43 seconds on investigative panicking about Trump-loving canvassers going door to doors and asking voters who their 2020 votes were. You read that right. There was not a story about the Kavanaugh shooting, but nearly 11 minutes on this. You wait! But wait!

NPR Politics Podcast’s July 1 Edition featured Nina Totenberg, the Supreme Court reporter. She did not mention the assassination attempt on Kavanaugh. She did however feel for President Biden: “No president has ever been in such a position.” The moment of truth is for the extreme right and the plans of those who want to do what Congress couldn’t by taking control of the Supreme Court.

— On the June 27 All Things Considered newscast, a story by Danielle Kurtzleben earnestly sympathized with protests outside the Kavanaugh home, but skipped the failed assassin. Laura Kriv was a demonstrator who called the Janes, the Chicago abortion group which killed thousands before Roevs. Wade. Their actions inspired current anti-abortion vandalism, “Jane’s Revenge,” but it is not covered on NPR.

— On the June 21 All Things ConsideredNPR dedicated 10 minutes 53 seconds to opposition research on Leonard Leo (Federalist Society president) three days before Dobbs’ ruling. The headline was “One man plays an outsized part in the shaping of the Supreme Court”. They also posted an extended 13-minute version on their podcast Take a look at these.Listeners were surely terrified when Leo declared that he is a serious Catholic who goes to Mass each day. That’s scary, unlike their friendly abortion backer Joe “Rosary in My Pocket’ Biden.
