Twitter has banned the term “groomer,” seemingly believing that the term is an anti-LGBT slur.

“Following pressure from journalists, Twitter has followed Reddit and has started censoring the word “groomer,” suggesting that it is an anti-LGBT slur.
Cultural and political commentator James Lindsay was locked out of Twitter after calling Ari Drennen, who works at left-wing pressure group Media Matters, a groomer.”
Twitter is not alone in banning the word.
NewsBusters had reported in the previous week that Reddit supporters cheered on an attempt to ban this term. Pro-LGBTQ activist Alejandra Caraballo’s tweeted that Reddit banned “groomer” adding the comment, “Reddit is now more proactive than Twitter. You move@TwitterSafety.”
