New Revelations About Hunter Biden Subpoenas Ramp Up the Heat in the Case – Opinion

The Hunter Biden probe seems to be heating up.

We know that they were looking into his foreign connections, that a grand jury has been empaneled and has been interviewing people, that the grand jury even asked a witness about who the “big guy” was who was getting a percentage of Hunter Biden’s deal with his Chinese partners. Tony Bobulinski, a former Biden associate said that Joe Biden was the one who knew.

But now, it’s been revealed that federal authorities also subpoenaed the records in the paternity lawsuit against him, according to Clint Lancaster, the attorney who represented Lunden Roberts, the woman who had Hunter Biden’s child.

A December 2020 subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Delaware, obtained by CBS News, requested all documents “regarding [Hunter] Biden’s income, assets, debts, obligations, and financial transactions… and all personal and business expenditures.” The request specified January 2017 to the present.

Subpoenas also demanded a variety of tax documents that related to Hunter Biden.

“All federal, state, local and foreign tax documentation related to Biden,” the subpoena reads, “including but not limited to, IRS Forms 1099, income and payroll tax returns, state tax returns, and amended tax returns.”

It would be very interesting to see if all the information filed by Hunter matches up and I wonder if that’s what they’re looking at, because one would have to assume that they already have his tax information if they’ve been looking into his taxes (among other things) for a while. If Hunter made mistakes in the paternity matter, or hid anything from it, that could lead to even more problems.

CBS News reported that Lesley Wolf was the Assistant U.S. attorney in Delaware. Lesley Wolf traveled with at least two FBI agents and an IRS enforcement agent to Lancaster’s Arkansas office in fall 2021. Lancaster stated that he spent half an hour answering questions regarding Hunter Biden’s business practices and the client.

Lancaster stated that investigators requested information on Hunter Biden’s companies, Rosemont Seneca Partners being one of them, during the meeting. This was a company where Lancaster worked many years.

The line of questioning tracks with a separate 2019 federal subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Delaware. The subpoena, obtained by CBS News, sought “all records, documents, and accounts pertaining to all financial/banking transactions” between 15 business entities and Hunter Biden, the president’s brother James, as well as two business partners dating back to 2014, when Joe Biden was vice president.

Lancaster said that during the paternity suit Hunter Biden had supplied an “affidavit of financial means,” which detailed his finances through income statements and a breakdown of monthly expenses.

Lancaster further stated to CBS that Hunter has testified before the grand jury in February. One has to imagine that isn’t going to be good for Hunter as well — that she likely has a ton of information that could potentially sink him and she might not hold back.

CBS cited former federal prosecutor Harry Litman: “The whole thing is as serious as a heart attack.” “People are going in and out of the grand jury. They want to explore the deepest depths. They’re playing hardball.” That sounds about right, given what we’re hearing so far. Let’s hope we get some real action. It’s under the control of a Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney who hasn’t been replaced so we just might see some real charges coming.

Other actions continue to be taken. The Senate has been hearing from Sen. Ron Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley about Hunter Biden’s foreign links. Judicial Watch also pursued any State Department mentions Hunter Biden via FOIA. However, the Biden Administration has not responded so Judicial Watch will take them to court.

The State Department did not reply to Judicial Watch’s Feb. 11 FOIA request, but did email saying it was invoking a 10-day extension because of “unusual circumstances.” However, as of April 15, the State Department had not complied with the FOIA request. The lawsuit was therefore filed with the U.S. District Court in District of Columbia.

“The State Department is unlawfully ignoring FOIA law to protect Hunter and Joe Biden,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a press release. “We have no doubt, given our prior finds, that the State Department has many secrets about Biden corruption.”

It is getting tighter. If Hunter is charged then does he talk more about his father’s role? He seems to have a lot of problems with his father’s actions. This could make Joe Biden more trouble.
