Republicans wish that the midterms would be held tomorrow.
It’s not looking good for old Joe and the Democrats.
According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll, taken Wednesday through Friday, many of the 1,000 registered voters contacted by pollsters delivered a very bad message to them — following up on the rebuke they got on Tuesday in the elections.
At this stage in his term, Biden is the least popular person, with 38 to 59 per cent approval. President Donald Trump was also constantly under attack by leftist media. Biden, however, has been widely praised.
Nearly 50% of respondents, 46% say Biden did a worse job than expected as president, 16% among those who voted him in. Independents, by 7-1 (44%-6%), say he’s done worse, not better, than they expected.
Nearly two-thirds of Americans, 64%, say they don’t want Biden to run for a second term in 2024. This includes 28% Democrats. [….]
Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is 28% – even worse than Biden’s. The poll shows that 51% disapprove of the job she’s doing. 22 percent of those surveyed are still undecided.
Sixty-six per cent believe the country is heading in the wrong directions.
The poll found that while many supported the infrastructure bill in their opinion, just one fourth of respondents believed Build Back Better would benefit them. However, more people felt it would cause harm than help, between 30-26 percent. We saw in a prior poll that Americans were not enamored of Biden’s bills, despite what Biden claims.
But beyond the indictment of Biden, here’s the money shot: If the election were held today, they would vote for the Republican candidate over the Democratic by 46 percent to 38 percent. Congressional Republicans have a 35-29 percent higher favorability score than Democrats, which is also a difference.
That doesn’t bode well for the Democrats. According to the NBC poll we just saw, Americans rank Republicans higher across the board as they are more able and able deal with the most pressing issues.
Now, it’s a normal thing for the party that holds the White House to lose seats in the midterms. With Biden so far in the polls, and Republicans only needing five seats to turn the House over to them, this number must fire up Republicans. If they can flip the House, they could prevent Biden’s legislative efforts (presuming you don’t have RINOs falling over to vote for Biden’s horrible agenda items as 13 did with the infrastructure bill did this week).
As the poll notes, when the approval of the person in office goes below 50 percent, it’s often a “blowout.” So, you have to like the Republican chances to flip the House.
Additionally, Democrats are already facing a number of retirements so it is not looking great for them.
The poll also found that Trump would win between 44-40% if it were Trump vs. Biden. The poll from the month ended last month also showed a similar result. Now having seen that, Biden isn’t what he was promised to be, they can look at both people with clearer eyes and see how much better things were under Trump than they are now under Biden.
