New Poll Has Americans Dunking All Over Dem Lies About Trump, Russia, and Ukraine – Opinion

One of the things that I’ve seen in great abundance over the last few days from Democrats and some in liberal media is the delusional thought that somehow Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is the fault of President Donald Trump.

Alexander Vindman: Take the weasel. Please.

Pardon the spin-off from the Henny Youthman joke. But few people have stepped in it more than Vindman, and now he’s eating it big time, being on the wrong side of history. Although he’d never acknowledge how wrong he has been. He’s still blaming Trump.

“It’s because of Trump’s corruption that we have a less capable, less prepared Ukraine,” he said to Vice, propounding on the invasion. He said Trump was “absolutely” at fault for the invasion.

I’ve seen multiple, other Democrats with some variation on that same theme. But this is just a departure from all reality because they don’t want to place the blame where it belongs. Trump hasn’t been in office for two years. It wasn’t under Trump that Putin invaded Ukraine – it was under the weak ones, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. It’s because – despite the lies Democrats have pushed about Trump – he was the strong one on Russia and Putin knew it. Putin wasn’t willing to test Trump. Trump would pull the trigger and drop bombs on Russian heads for firing near Syria. We have already noted that he gave Germany an excuse for being in bed with Putin over oil and made Europe dependent upon Russia. Trump asked them what they thought it made, as NATO was created to safeguard against Russia. They reacted with disapproval.

Trump had it again.

Biden not only didn’t seem to care about that – he increased our oil buying from Russia while cutting our options for production, waived sanctions on Nord Stream 2, and then even greenlit for the Russians that a “minor incursion” wouldn’t get severe backlash (although he later tried to clean that up). Even up to Friday, Biden’s sanctions weren’t designed to hit Russia where Putin lived.

We all know that, but how do Americans think about this whole thing? Is this what Democrats and liberal media want them to buy? No, and that’s a resounding no.

According to a Harvard Center for American Political Studies’ (CAPS-Harris) poll released Friday, 62 percent believed that Putin wouldn’t be supporting Ukraine if Trump were president. These are the exact answers from Democrats and Republicans.

Even 38 percent of Democrats know the Democrats’ argument is nonsense, and believe Putin wouldn’t have invaded if Trump were still in office.

Why did Americans blame Putin, when he was willing to do such things now?

A majority of Americans polled — 59 percent — also said they believed that the Russian president moved on Ukraine because Putin saw weakness in President Biden, while 41 percent said that it was not a factor in Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine.

They called Biden out for his comments on Ukraine. The poll placed Biden at 38% approval, which is one of the lowest levels so far.

“On the eve of his State of the Union, the president has hit a new low as inflation and economic anxiety hit new highs. The president is now underwater on every top domestic and foreign policy issue,” said Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey.

The same poll found that 64 percent of registered voters said Biden is “too lenient” with Russia, while 31 percent said he handles Russia “just right.” Five percent said he’s “too tough.”

The majority of Americans can see and assess the evidence, but not Alexander Vindman.
