Nets Tout Biden’s Overseas Attacks on Supreme Court over Abortion

Biden attacked Thursday’s last leg of his European foreign trip, blaming the Supreme Court for its decision to reverse the Constitution Roe v. WadeWhile he was abroad, he spoke in front of a group of foreign and American reporters. This is the kind of thing that the leftist news networks would set their hair on fire over if former President Trump did it, yet the three evening news networks not only didn’t have any concerns about Biden’s attack on an American institution, but they even touted his attacks on the Supreme Court overseas.

ABC’s World News Tonight was the first one out of the gate with White House correspondent Cecilia Vega gushing that “President Biden today turning his attention back home, blasting the Supreme Court and what he called its outrageous behavior.”

She then reported how Biden wants “Congress to pass abortion rights protections at the federal level and says he now supports carving out an exception to Senate rules that would allow Democrats to do this with just a simple majority, rather than 60 votes.”

Vega was forced to admit that her party doing away with the Senate filibuster was unlikely, and Biden is “well aware that key members of his own party have said they’re not on board with eliminating the filibuster, even when it comes to abortion rights.”

Continuing her network’s meltdown over the Supreme Court striking down the EPA’s regulations limiting greenhouse gasses, Vega wailed that “the decision effectively [made] it impossible for his administration to reach its goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 and eliminating carbon by 2050.”

There are more NBC Nightly News, senior White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell touted Biden’s claim that the Supreme Court is “upending American freedoms” by letting states make their own abortion laws.

She then breathlessly reported that Biden the consequences of the court’s rulings are “so dire” that he has “urged Congress to restore abortion rights with new law.” In the next breath, O’Donnell bemoaned the fact that “top Democrats say they cannot make the change because a few Democrats won’t agree.”

Wade and letting states set their own abortion policies, a decision that sparked protest across the country.”

This sycophantic coverage of Joe Biden’s attacks on an independent branch of government was made possible by Geico on ABC, Prudential on CBS, and Liberty Mutual on NBC. The information they share is linked.

CECILIA VEGA: The last day of the high-stakes summit is on the global stage

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Good afternoon, everyone.

VEGA. President Biden is turning his attention to home today, blasting the Supreme Court’s outrageous behavior and turning it against him. This historic decision was overturned Roe v. WadeThis is causing a shift in the thinking of President Obama. The President wants Congress to approve federal protections for abortion rights. He now supports a Senate rule exception which would allow Democrats to vote with only a simple majority. This is in contrast to 60 votes.

BIDEN (I believe) We must codify Roe V. Wade in law. The only way we can do this is for Congress to vote to do so.

VEGA. The President was well aware, however that many key members of his party had said that they aren’t in favor of eliminating filibuster even though it affects abortion rights. Just as the President was about board Air Force One, another hit to his domestic agenda. The Supreme Court’s ruling relegated the EPA to regulating greenhouse gases. His administration was effectively unable to achieve its goals of halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and eliminating carbon by 2050. According to the White House, it was devastating and meant to cause a backlash.

LESTER HOLT : President Biden blasted today’s Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade. He also accused the justices of extraordinary behavior. As a response, Biden called for controversial changes to Senate rules. Kelly O’Donnell shares the details.

KELLY O’DONNELL: From a world stage moment in Spain, President Biden accused the highest court of upending American freedoms.

JOE BIDDEN, PRESIDENT: One thing has destabilized is the bizarre behavior of the Supreme Court of the United States in overturning Roe v. Wade and essentially challenging the rights to privacy.

O’DONNELL: Consequences he sees as so dire the President urged Congress to restore abortion rights with new law. Today’s surprise announcement came as a result of a lack of votes by Democrats in a 50/50 Senate.

BIDEN

O’DONNELL:: The President said he would back a limited change to Senate rules to allow a simple majority vote to make abortion legal again nationally.

BIDEN – Requires exception from the filibuster in order to take this action regarding the Supreme Court ruling.

O’DONNELL: That’s a flip, breaking his decades-long filibuster support.

BIDEN: It is very risky to end the filibuster.

O’DONNELL: But tonight top Democrats say they cannot make the change because a few Democrats won’t agree. Mitch McConnell, a top Republican said that President Trump’s attack on the court is unmerited. I asked him about political pressures he is subject to.

Is your message the most important? Democrats want more from you, and so do many Progressives.

BIDEN : I’m. I am the President of America. I am the most trusted messenger.
